This poor woman suffered more tragedy, heartache, and loss than anyone. The amount of death, violence, and sorrow that plagued her throughout her entire life was relentless. She was so strong to be able to keep going. They don’t make people like her anymore, not a single person alive today is strong enough to go through all that she did and survive. The poor lady….😔

I find her absolutely gorgeous and so intriguing. What a life she had, from the highest of the highs to the lowest of the lows and all the in between. She truly loved Russia and after reading a couple of books on her she is definitely my top two favorite royals, the other being her sister Queen Alexandra

How sad she must have felt all those years knowing her only grandchildren were all massacred. She lived up to 1926? or 1928? You could see her husband, Tsar Alexander II, really loved her and his kids. He was fun loving but had a iron hand with those in his cabinet. Not like his son Nicholas, who he considered weak. And Nicholas, as a weak Tsar or ruler. He wasn't weak with his family. He was a family man instead not really a Tsar. Mini his mother's nick name by the family, hurt so bad. In exile for years. Glad to have heard that finally her body was brought back and buried with her husband and her son's and daughterinlaw and grandchildren.

@@Spinnradler The Romanov’s are not actually that inbred when compared to some of the other royal families. By the time they began marrying foreign princesses with history of incest in their families, the other monarchies of Europe had been inbreeding for over a thousand years. The Russian royals also tried to marry the healthiest and prettiest princesses/aristocrats they could find as opposed to marrying for political alliances. For example, the previous Russian royal dynasty (the Ruriks) had a tradition of selecting the most beautiful and the healthiest Russian aristocrats to become their wives. As a result, they had fairly good genes for hundreds of years. The Romanovs, who also have Rurik blood, similarly married beautiful and healthy women for most of their time in power, usually minor German princesses. Even though these princesses did bring some incestuous blood, it was nothing compared to the marriages made by other European royals who married their first and second cousins.... Out of all the royal brides who married Romanov tsars, I think (I’m not sure) the most inbred would probably be Alexandra Feodorovna, the last Empress of Russia who was descended from Queen Victoria.

I kinda wish King Christian ix was alive during world war i.. he would have never allowed the Romanovs to be abandoned by the other royal houses like that..The world is such a cruel place.. the royal children of Great Britain, Denmark, Greece & Russia were 1st cousins and had reunions practically every year since they were all babies and yet none of them came forward to help the Romanovs in their time of need.. i mean it's just not about nicholas ii but his siblings grand duke michael and grand duchesses xenia and olga, even after the sisters escaped they weren't given any REAL help by their royal cousins nor treated with much respect .. it shows that when bad times come no one can be trusted..

I read somewhere that queen ellizabeth invited her cousin alexandra to go back to britain during the war but she refused, maybe because they cant bring any of their wealth and ashane to be a burden to their relatives, just like princess Alice of Greece they were in exile in Paris but they were ashame living from the graces of their relatives, you can watch the story entitled the unbelievable story of princess Alice of Greece, Princess Alice the mom of Prince Philip husband of Queen Elizabeth of England
@funnysarcasticguy7388

@@evelynstreegan6081 i think you are getting confused between the various generations. At the time of these events, Queen Elizabeth II wasn't even born. Empress Alexandra & her family were murdered in 1918. Queen Elizabeth ii was born in 1926. At this time (1918), King George V (grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II) was the king of Great Britain. He was a 1st cousin of both the Emperor Nicholas II (through his mother) and the Empress Alexandra (through his father). Empress Alexandra was a grand daughter of Queen Victoria. She was also the aunt of Princess Alice Mountbatten (mother of Prince Philip), who was also a great grand daughter of Queen Victoria. Coming to the question of rescue, King George V had initially offered the Romanovs exile but later changed his mind (because of public opinion). I always keep wondering what Queen Victoria would have done. Surely she wouldn't abandon her own grand daughter like that. Coming to the question of wealth, The former imperial family had already lost their wealth and were imprisoned under relatively bad circumstances with NO property of their own. So there was no question of losing any wealth. While i cannot speak of Princess Alice, both the Emperor & Empress kept hoping to the last day that their cousin would save them. Sadly that did not happen and they along with their children were murdered.

@@joseeduardotschen9186 lmao you are either dumb or clearly not aware of history. Queen Victoria was against the marriage only till it was officially decided. Once all parties approved she came on board as well. Empress Alexandra Feodorovna maintained excellent relations with her grandmother to the very end. Edit : Also the only reason she was against the marriage was because she was afraid of the country's political climate. Otherwise she had excellent relations with Russia. 1) Queen Victoria's maternal aunt (princess Juliane of Saxe coburg) was married to a Russian Grand duke. 2) One of Queen Victoria's god fathers was Tsar Alexander I. 3.) The first Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (Tsar Nicholas I's wife ) was Queen Victoria's 2nd cousin. 4.) Queen Victoria was almost married off to Tsar Alexander II. 5.) Queen Victoria's son Prince Alfred was married to a daughter of the Tsar Alexander II. Queen Marie,Queen of Romania was their common grand daughter. 6.) Victoria's oldest daughter in law was a sister of Empress Maria Feodorovna. 7.) Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich was married to another of Queen Victoria's grand daughters. So yea Queen Victoria definitely did NOT have bad relations with the Russian Tsars and would have absolutely saved them. Cuz she wasn't a kinslayer.

Princess Dagmar of Denmark was very much in love with her first Russian fiancee the elegant & gifted heir to the Russian throne Nicholas Alexandrovich. After Nicholas' unexpected death Dagmar's engagement to rough & tumble Alexander Alexandrovich was a dynastic affair bonded by duty and the couple's joint deep sorrow over the elder brother. Nevertheless the arranged marriage between Dagmar and Alexander (who temperamentally had very little in common) proved a very successful and happy union--far happier than her sister Alexandra's marriage to King Edward V11. Alexander 111 proved a devoted and faithful husband much loved by his children. In the words of her youngest daughter Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna the Empress Marie was by nature sociable, light hearted and charming diligently caring out her public duties "never putting a step wrong." Given that the Empress Marie was to lose tragically everything she most valued and loved in this world she bore that burden with dignity and resolve.

To start life as a pretty, then beautiful woman, only to have her son, his wife, four beautiful granddaughters & one crippled grandson brutally shot & butchered by Yurovsky & his thugs of the Urals Soviet, in a scruffy cellar in Ekaterinburg! We can barely begin to feel her trauma as a woman, mother & grandmother........ All the anti-monarchists never seem to appreciate that these people ARE ordinary people, born into a life they never chose or even wanted, by a twist of historical fate, which decides their future life in every aspect. Poor Dagmar! She may not have died of a broken heart, but almost certainly with one!!

The poor grandson had hemophilia. When the blood bleeds internally, it can destroy tissue and sometimes the limbs can be temporarily bent out of shape. So he wasn't a cripple. He wore braces because of what this awful disease did to him.

Carol actually unofficially proposed to Maria. Nicholas laughed off the proposal as he said she was just a school girl. She too could of been saved. It was Alexandra that wanted Olga to be married off as the two clashed even though they loved each other. Nicholas didn't want his girls to leave him and they didn't want to leave him. To be brutally honest - Russians admit publicly legal documentation that the Tsar Tsarina advanced - education medicine - medical care - This form of palagarism is sill practiced today apparently wrongfully.End 1. To this day no one can explain the reason for the abandonment of the Romanov Family by their peers. All Europe was directly related to them, Kings, Queens, Emperors ...... I believe what Nicolas reported in his diary. There are betrayals everywhere from people I never imagined, I'm surrounded by traitors. Yes, there was an interest from the rest of Europe that they should be wiped out. Remember that they were exterminated and nothing was done to punish such an act. “Nobility passes through blood, not by law” OTMA 📚“Maria Romanov After 17 July 1918” In a sense, the First World War was the battle of cousins. The financiers of the war decided to erase the last traces of the Russian Empire from history. They had already identified the most suitable employer to achieve their goals. Kaiser Wilhelm the second. They knew the Kaiser's weakness for Tsarina Aleksandra Fyodorovna, who was the wife of the last Russian Tsar Nicholas the second. It didn't take long for the Kaiser to find the right shooter for the job. He was Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, who was later known as Lenin. Lenin's brother Aleksandr Ulyanov was executed for the assassination of Tsar Alexander III. According to the agreements of the Kaiser and Lenin, the Tsar would be killed. The Tsar's family would be sent to the Kaiser. But Lenin did not obey the agreement, thinking that the Kaiser would betray him. The execution, which took place on July 17, 1918, at 01:00, was concluded as neither the Kaiser nor Lenin had planned. Maria and her brother Alexei were able to survive with the help of the young Prince, whom Maria had met at a prom in Romania. This book is about the lives of Maria and Alexei after July 17, 1918.
