► Complex Regional Pain Syndrome might not mean much to you and me be something you haven't even heard of, but is thought to affect thousands of people in the UK, leaving them in agony, for no apparent reason.
It can go away on its own but if it doesn't, sometimes the pain gets so bad patients even ask for the limb to be amputated.
This last resort is controversial and still against medical advice.

I have had similar pain in my knee since a fracture that never healed right !!! I know where a brace knee brace almost all the time

This makes the condition worse- my CRPS is treated successfully with infusions and specific meds here in Tampa Florida. Dr Kirkpatrick is saving lives with his treatment- I have had a stimulator implanted and much success with infusions and am able to walk and work again.

I have issues with my foot ankle calf a knee and back...adult scoliosis...I understand

Amputation is sometimes the best solution to avoid pain and other problems ; but too numerous surgeons reject the amputation request. I'm in the situation and unable to find a surgeon to perform an above knee amputation.

My drs aren't listening to me when I say about the pain in my leg (or they fob me off with a med that works for others). I've said I want my leg amputated only to get dismissed by the drs. Its like drs are saying we don't want you to try and get better on your terms
