She had her brother to tell her to see a doctor, and the effects were life-threatening. Just imagine all the people who don't have someone who convinces them to see a doctor...

It frustrating that every episode I've seen on this show everyone ends up being fine so they keep doing it thinking it won't hurt them. Its like undereating or obesity. It can cause horrendous health problems now, gradually, or your body just finally hits a breaking point and you don't come back from it even if it's 30 years later

Actually this is kinda legit, in that women tend to crave "rock like" things sometimes when they are super nutrient deficient or sometimes when they are pregnant (like how people with low iron crave ice). There's a really good Emmy's Made video about edible clay, and how because of this it's still eaten in certain cultures. I think what happened with her is she was nutrient defficient, saw the clay mask, and her brain made the connection that she was craving clay. She ate it, and it satisfied her- but because she was eating mask it wasn't nutrient dense like actual edible clay, so she was become MORE nutrient deficient especially since she was replacing meals with it. And it just kept spiraling.

Somewhat related: I once had an intense craving for lemon and salt. So I cut up one lemon, and sprinkled it with salt and ate that. Then I couldnt stop, and basically ate 10 lemons in one night. The next morning, I felt fine and suddenly didnt crave it anymore

Main cause of clay eating is LACK OF IRON and other elements in the body, in AFRICA pregant women eat it alot and think it's Normal. But it's not once you get enough of the supplemental elements that urge dissapears

I have an addiction to ice.. I use to eat 2-3 big cups a day but now I barely eat it bc I fight the urges but I crave it all the time.. it started when I was pregnant and stuck after my baby was born. My daughter is 2 now😩

Craving dirt, soil, clay, rock is alot more common than people think. I know several older women from the south who will eat a tablespoon of earth straight out of the garden. Personally I don't understand craving that but to each their own. As far as the commercial cosmetic face masks this woman consumes I would really worry about all the added chemicals, not so much the clay/mud. It would probably be much healthier for her to eat straight clay.
