Usually the Withholding tax will be set aside for foreign worker and the net amount to be paid. I live in Singapore and everything mentioned never will happen here. It's stricter here when comes to scamming

That was clever. I listen to a conversation with a fake victim and real scammer. The fake victim speaks several different languages. The scammer claimed to be from a country that doesn’t speak English. When the fake victim started speaking that language, the scammer didn’t know what to do. The scammers often make excuses pretending they can’t hear or they will hang up or they would try to divert the question somewhere else. It’s all about manipulation. When they are questioned about the things they claimed, they don’t want to answer. They will say you ask too many questions but at the same time they’re begging for money. I think the most accurate assessment of these romance scammers are that they find significantly narcissistic people who just talk about themselves for hours and fall in love with themselves until the scammer knows they're hooked and then they turn the tables on them.

Also you don't pay taxes before you leave a country. Even if he did have a huge contract in a foreign country, he'd have to file taxes the following year when tax returns were due and would have an accountant handling it. Anyone who has a successful enough business to get an overseas contract would have an in house Finance Director as well as an accounting firm and tax lawyer handling their affairs

That’s EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!! I think she is probably a very giving very sweet lady. She just got taken by a scammer. I have almost been scammed myself. But the very minute he started asking for money, I told him to piss off because he was (supposedly) richer than I was. So when he started with needing this and that I just said, “Well how did you become a millionaire??? You couldn’t have gotten that rich by not knowing what exactly to do in these kinds of situations....” He just kept repeating himself and then called me his Queen.... I said, , “I’m a dude......” well that was the end of him!! Lolz 😝

The more competent you are, the more likely you will understate. I wouldn’t doubt that most of these people think they are the most intelligent people in the room despite evidence otherwise.
