I live in a very multicultural place and there are certain cultures where the women who have come over from the country of origin, are extremely immature and they have spent their entire lives hard wiring these infantile reactions to get what they want. I've seen it, scolded people at work over it, it's absurd behaviour for "grown" women.

From all the videos I have watched, the Australia Customs and Immigration officials seem very dedicated, polite, no-nonsense, all-business agents who are dedicated to keeping Australia healthy and safe, and keeping all the bad stuff OUT. They are very good at their jobs, and politely but firmly ensure that all the laws and rules are upheld. I am very impressed.

As I'm reading these comments, I'm looking down at the shopping mall from my fifteenth floor apartment. Within a period of ten minutes two cars have stopped beside the ATM, put their hazard lights, and got out to do some banking, leaving their car blocking the lane. And there's a convenient parking lot right there beside the ATM. But this would require them to make a laborious trek of twelve feet. "I'm too busy for that. Everyone can wait until I'm done or drive around me."

@@MaryHartman-ei9pv Some foods are prohibited, others allowed. When traveling internationally I always bring maple syrup as host gifts. Maple syrup is allowed, honey is not. That's why passengers are asked to declare food, so that customs can let them know if it is allowed.

The first case, with the massive fine, was perhaps slightly different in that the first woman deliberately hid the meat, whereas this woman claimed she just made a mistake. I am not convinced though, because she knew she had meat on her but did not declare it on her declaration form. For me, that is deliberate dishonesty, just the same as the first case. Her ott reaction is consistent with a guilty conscience, not an honest mistake.

Obviously, this woman wasn’t aware that you can’t bring in food from foreign countries and this applies to all counties, not just NZ because it can be dangerous to the environment (insects, bacteria, parasites etc..). Throwing tantrums appears to have worked for her in the past, or she would not be engaged in them now. However, having tantrums with a border agent in a foreign country doesn’t seem to be a very wise thing.

I don't understand why these kind of things happen nowadays because you can put a translator on your phone and talk to anybody in any language all you have to do is have a iPhone everybody has one

@rubyewiggins4926 1) This show is 20 years old. 2) Google translator is not perfect, especially when discussing esoteric topics like customs and immigration.

There are signs up in airports in multiple languages telling you what you can and cannot bring in. And, lying on the declaration forms that are also in multiple languages is still lying on the forms. You can’t say “I didn’t know”. You can’t NOT know!
