But a guy who may make that in the future and doesn't yet might. Uglier women need to play their cards a little smarter and pick guys with potential. Guys who are established and still single are definitely more likely to turn away average woman but also more likely to be gold dug, especially if they have low self esteem and have placed all their self worth on their money. And that is likely the case if they are partly pursuing money just to become more attractive. If you want to be rich and not be played you gotta get your mind and values right. Don't ask how I know :)

100%. I know a few guys who make that much. Their wives look like models and they're not full of poop. They're actually self aware women and one goes to church and is humble. Also those women make the same or close to their husbands. Meaning they're not greedy.

Once I realized that 99% of women are materialistic narcissists, I got a divorce, quit that job, and found another one that paid just enough for me to do whatever I wanted. Well, I'm 70, financially stable, no debt, and (leaving aside the fact that I'm happily married and want to stay that way), I wouldn't do that either, nor let her through my door. If I wasn't married and financially stable, etc, frankly, it would depend on the price. Yes I'm shallow, but if you need money, you need money.

I was set up on a 'Blind Date'. We decided to meet up for coffee to talk and "Get to know each other". At the table... Introductions BARELY over... Her first question, BEFORE I've even got my jacket off, was... "How much do you make?". We hadn't even fully sat down or got past names. I excused myself to "go to the bathroom". Met with the server and explained the situation then gave her $50 bucks for my "my dates" coffee/meal and "NOPED OUT of there". I was driving home when my friend called me "pissed off" at what I did. I explained what happened and said "It is NOT going to happen!".

Noping out in such cases is OK, but the way you did it was not. Step up, and tell your date why you don't think it would work in an honest but respectful way. A lot of valuable messages can be conveyed, if you how to formulate it correctly. Sneaking out and not giving her any feedback on where the chain fell off, was a cowardly move, and your friend was right for calling you out for it. Everyone stubbles a bit through dates -it is an art that needs to be learned, but a requisite for learning is feed back, so you know what to change. Was your "date" wrong for assuming that you would act like an ATC, sure she was, so help her adjust so she can get a more realistic worldview, instead of leaving before things even begun, and leaving everyone confused about what happened, and what was going to happen from there on.

If, during the course of the evening, you discovered she had one too many red flags for your taste, then you don't prolong the date and make it clear to her you don't see it going any further. The fact she _OPENED_ with "How much do you make?" tells me everything I need to know about her and there is no reason to waste any more of my time or hers. Trying to have an adult conversation about how you didn't see things progressing would have likely led to unnecessary conflict, based on her initial inquiry. If she needs a teaching moment, that what her friends are for. She needs to already be presentable _before_ she gets to me. First impressions, right?

We were able to move eventually to a 30 square home, for bedroom (granny flat made five bedroom) on 2 acres close to town. Now that I am essentially retired, we are looking at downsizing to under a quarter of an acre. Couldn't see myself moving back to the city for any reason. Much prefer a country town of 16,000 people.

The problem is that high value men with money don’t have to settle down. People think that is you’re a 10 you can get Leo DiCaprio to commit. No. You can’t. Have you seen the American average lately? It's packing an extra 50 pounds...not a great start. Oh not only men who make 200k get treated this way. I made 50k a year and I was treated like a bank account for over 20 years. I allowed it to happen because of the kids of course and the woman knows this. She knows she could ignore how I feel, what I say or what I do and I will try to make it work because I didn’t want the kids to have to deal with constant drama, tension and fighting. My thoughts and opinions about all matters were ignored or disregarded. I know I should have never allowed myself to be treated that way but I felt that if I did get a divorce the legal system would screw me royally, my kids would go through hell and I’d be ruined. She had me trapped and she knew it. She knew I would do and tolerate almost anything because of my love of the kids and my not wanting them to experience family break up. She beat me with that club. So don’t come away from this video thinking only rich men get treated this way. As long as you make enough to pay all the bills, men are treated as a bank account to modern women. Pay my bills, go away and shut up. Men don’t get used like I did. Trust me when I tell you it’s not worth it. Oh and in the end my daughters, who I went through hell in order to have a good , peaceful and happy childhood, turned against me too. After my kids were out of college I decided I’d done my duty, I had raised my kids in a peaceful home, got them well educated and out into the world with good degrees and good jobs, I got a divorce. Of course my wife went full court press on trashing me to my kids and she was expert at that. So in the end after I sacrificed 25 years of life, tolerated abuse and neglect in order for my kids to have a good start and a happy life, I as made out to be the bad guy. Guys you need to know a woman for a long period of time before you get married. I’d say 3 year minimum and talk about all kinds of situations and beliefs until you really know her. People these days don’t really know themselves or the person they marry well enough and bad marriages and broken lives is the result.

She seems to have schooling and if she is actually paying all of the rent on her apt., she has a pretty good job. So, some brains and probably a degree is my guess. She is a 2 or 3. Then add a plus 1 or 2 for the schooling and income ability. A solid 3 or 4 is nothing to sneer at. Her attitude is something that could change over time.....if she is REALLY looking for a long-term relationship. It is likely she would wise up to real life. I spent 5 to 10 years changing one young woman into a quite reasonable partner. She was my pride and joy for about 20 years. Then she went back to school for anothe degree and that changed her back to her original leftist crap mind set. I had to leave.

But I think it is important to remember that the patriarchy created clearly defined gender roles for men and women. (I respect that some people do not identify as either a man or a woman, but that is a separate discussion for another time). When there were clearly defined gender roles it was much easier for people to know what was expected of them and how to behave in society. As the patriarchy is slowly dismantled, both men and women take on a completely different set of roles and responsibilities. This is a very challenging and frustrating process for both men and women. I think women have every right to be treated as an equal to a man in a workplace or educational setting or in politics. I am glad to see that women have made a lot of progress in this regard. But it comes at a price of disrupting cultural norms regarding marriage and romantic relationships. When women primarily kept house and raised children, it made perfect sense to expect that husbands would be the primary wage earner and it was his responsibility to make sure that the wife had everything she wanted, within reason. But times have changed and our society is struggling to adjust to a new normal.

Men were afforded a level of respect but now it looks like young men have to cross impossible hurdles and the benefits of that is questionable at best
