It's the simple fact that people in the comments really thought they just picked a random old lady who met Jay-Z in a subway when she is in fact famous too. She is a painter/artiste.

Tech n9ne went to my aunts damn store in lee summit Missouri and had a conversation with her about normal things without knowing who it was. Her co workers went out when he left and said she didn't know him so he went back in and talked to her about not knowing him and how interesting it was and all.

How is this even a news story?! Almost as bad as the Daily Mail's stories about "celebrity woman steps in puddle" or "celebrity wears posh frock to posh event".

i bet 1 billion poor people with no electricity in africa don't recognize JAY Z even though he is black. A whole video on this women not recognizing a rapper? What are we supposed to all know him?

Yeah lets eliminate all of our entertainment values because other countries can't catch up.

Correcto mundo, the world doesn't revolve around Jay Z nor around Ellen Grossman. Only a narcissist with grandiosity will feel the need for praise, and neither are either.

Seeing as there are only 1.2 billion people on the whole continent of Africa you might have a hard time finding a billion africans who don't have electricity.

This is why I enjoyed hanging out with the smart kids at school. Yes, you were not going to be challenging them for valedictorian but at the same time they enjoyed having you and found it interesting that you wanted to learn from them and in turn they lived vicariously through you since they were giving up extracurriculars to be highly educated. To this day I still enjoy speaking to these folks.

I prefer the person who didn't recognize Matthew Mcconaughey.. Also the story about the person who sat clueless next to Cher was awesome. Seriously, this is what the media has to offer..?

Well that's very limited and ignorant take on all this. Being famous is relative. She's been an artist and sculptor for longer than you've been alive most likely and is famous within circles that you are not aware of. Just like her not knowing who Jay-Z was... which was the point of their encounter and is testament to how different and unique people and their interests are. You need to expand your mind, my dude.

I wouldn't recognize 95% of the actors and musicians. Who the hell cares about them? They're just PEOPLE making obscene amounts of money doing what they love and are good at. Does that make them special? Okay...
