THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION. 1. Men who are intimated by successful women are men who are beneath those women socially & in status. 2. How come it's only women over 30 years old who always say they intimidate men? I have never heard of women in their 20s say the same thing. 3. Men prefer younger women who they can lead. It's like that's verse that says, train a child in the ways of the lord. So that when they grow up, they won't depart from them. In short, you cant teach an old dog new tricks. 4. What women call "empowerment" is simply having a job & paying all your bills. But you're an adult. These are things you should do for yourself without expecting to be cheered. Because we chose to hustle, we also chose to take the responsibilities that come with it. It's called being an adult. 5. Real empowerment is seen when you can do things you weren't allowed to do. But women have been working for the last 60 years. So how have they not been empowered financially? 6. Modern women place value in being able to sustain themselves. But who was supposed to do that from the beginning? 7. Some of these women were raised by single mothers. How would they know how to build a relationship if they've never seen a functioning one from home? They clearly don't know anything about being a wife or a girlfriend to someone because they never saw their mothers be that. & that's not their fault. But to repeat that cycle is. 7. Women over 30 have generally been through a lot. Being emotional beings, it takes a toll on them. & pair bonding becomes difficult. So they drown themselves in work. 8. I am yet to see a woman say that the man she's attracted to or interested in, is intimidated by her. If he is & you want him, what does that say about your choices in men? Furthermore, women know that the only men who matter are those ones they want or those who are above them in every way, shape or form. 9. I am all for women growing in life. But your innate desire is to have a family of your own. You can be super successful in life, but without that, you're not considered a woman yet. That's just how life is. I mean, you cant be an hopeless romantic & still claim to want career over family. 10. If truly women have evolved to being modern, why should men continue being traditional? & what exactly is a modem woman? Because I haven't seen any woman take a man out on a date, pay his bills, propose to him, build him up, be comfortable with him being a stay at home dad & all. Female empowerment, this modern version of it, is an idea created to deny the woman her real feminine essence. Just the same way neglecting the man is a narrative created to destroy the real essense of a man.

I love your analysis, especially with the cycle and nurturing matters, one can't have unrealistic demands to men because you can provide, I support empowerment but feel the conversation atimes is headed in the wrong direction

I agree. I struggle to take people seriously when they speak in absolutes, and expect their experience of something to be everyone’s. The condescending way she speaks to Lydia is bothering me and I wish the others had intervened more. Life is not black and white. What is ideal is different from what is lived daily. I’m glad Lydia stood her ground.

Getting a good man is our Father's assignment. He matches you for His purpose. When a man knows your Father He will definitely discern who you are. The most beautiful thing l have experienced in this world is when a man knows you are his wife. It doesn't hold much if you are a King's daughter, a super woman or a shy girl he will do anything to have you. Nothing shall intimidate him. Another powerful tool for women over 30 is to work on yourself being the right partner instead of looking for Mr right. Go for therapy, deal with your wounds, strip off your warped ideologies, work on your relationship with God and warm up for a man whom the lord has prepared for you. Stop chasing men & acting desperate. Many miss good opportunities because of unpreparedness, toxicity, unrealistic expectations/standards & wasting time knowingly with users. Being over 30 is actually a strength because you are mature & focused. Dont allow street talk define you- let your purpose speak for you.

It's because I really didn't have a traumatic or bad experience to share... I have exes of course, but most of my relationships ended on a good note, it's either we were not a good match or not aligning... But I don't have the toxic relationship experiences that most people have because like I said, when I dropped the three week relationships I just knew it wouldn't work... And currently I am in a very healthy thriving relationship... So it's not like I didn't want to share my experience, but I don't have a bad relationship experience to share. And I totally understand why people think I am not relatable ... But sometimes I say maybe I am just lucky I don't have a lot of toxic relationships like most people do. But I appreciate the feedback, will make improvements on conversational skills. There's always a first time for everything.

While Anifa might have said some truth, people need to understand that it's never about what you say, it's how you say it. Knowing the right words to use is a skill. I think people are overreacting with this whole dating/marriage issue. Marriage is all about timing. When the right time comes, both the man and the woman will meet and get married. Marriage is beautiful. Both men and women are beautiful. Let's not tarnish marriage or make it a very complex matter. You can meet with a stranger today, and get married shortly after.

Lynn and the Girls, great conversation ❤ I am a born again Christian. I got married at 31 years. I am 53. I agree with Anifa, the Lawyer. one should not move in with anyone, man or woman, before the marriage covenant. Take time to know yourself as Anifa said. Know exactly what you are looking for in a marriage partner. And yes,as the Lydia said, let your prospective partner know what your deal- breakers are , ie ,what you can't stomach, eg infidelity and domestic violence. And for marriage to make sense, the manual is the Bible, coz the manufacturer of something always knows Best how it should work...So God started marriage and He tells us how to relate in that marriage..if both husband and wife obey God, the marriage is sweet. Marriage is a beautiful thing...but it's a journey..between marriage and being single for life, I would recommend marriage, any time ,unless one has a calling from God to be celibate ❤

I feel Anifa is coming off a bit strong because she probably understands herself and achieved 'self-awareness' earlier on and insists on crucial points which people need to hear, I can feel her advocacy energy💪. Rose is so composed and mature, more of a listener and when she talks she gives solid points!💯 I am wondering what is this vocabulary of "real" man or woman?...Anyways, it's great to hear these lovely ladies and looking forward to the men panel!

When we thought we were doing the most amazing thing we forgot the boychild , we left one big gap that will take years to bridge ....The boy child isn't weak ...The boy child has been forgotten and we need to refocus to remind our men they too can rise up . That is how we can have a balanced peaceful family...note : there's nothing wrong with an empowered woman it's a plus to any man ....but arrogance and disrespect is a problem in majority of set-up... where the boy child is slowly fading away .

Well, I disagree. I got married just after turning 24, and am still thriving years later. I also know several people who married and got married in their early 20s, and are living happily ever after. Please don't stamp your experience on everyone. Marriage isn't so much about age as it is about commitment. Some 20yr olds will readily commit and do the work needed to keep a marriage, while some other 30 and 40yr olds behave like fools: moving about from lover to lover and hurting their partners.

Just work on your feminine power. A lot of women today don't know how to be and act feminine. They have too much masculine energy. A man can easily sense a masculine energy and we don't prefer it. You can have money, successful career or leadership position and still act in your feminine power. You should make sure when a person comes across you what he sees first is your womanhood and not your career, money, power or a man in a woman's body. Feminity attracts men and it's that how nature functions for a female to attract a potential mate. If you see you rarely attract men work on your feminine power. The problem is not men, it's you!!! Start working on the way you dress (you attract certain people by the way you dress and don't confuse it with empowerment you will be confused more, men are visual), you language tone, your sense of humour and values. And women over 30 tend to be very masculine.

There is a way a man is supposed to bring his masculine side and a woman brings her feminine side for both to compliment each other to have completeness. Both sides are equally important. Women should never think that their feminin contribution is weak, no it's not. In fact if they try to bring out a masculine side then the whole thing will fall apart.

Great and timely conversation. However it was not necessary for the advocate to attack Lydia, she was speaking her truth, that is her story.. this is the reason some people shy away from sharing their story. I'm a psychologist, It's important to remember and know that we all have different life experiences, don't be so judgmental we all make mistakes. Nobody is perfect, we live and we learn. Now on marriage, i have been married for 18 years, got married in my early twenties, marriage works if the two people in each work as a team, nurture their friendship and commit to stay together no matter the circumstances. Self awareness is very key in this life, but we respect that we all have a different purpose in life, marriage and kids are not what define you as a person

When it comes to friendship, they’re friends who are there for a season, some for a reason and others who are rooted… distinguish them and don’t confuse them.
