There were plenty to choose from, but Portia Woodman has scooped the IRP Women’s 15s Try of the Decade, following a fan vote.

All great tries, Portia on a different level as a player. ✊🏿

Danielle Waterman "she's got some pace on her" says the commentator - she makes everyone else look like they're standing still! Amazing try.

In men’s rugby, all you have to do is mention the name Jonah, and everyone will know exactly who you’re talking about. In women’s rugby, there is really only one Portia!

So, is it only the person on the end of the try that qualifies for this award?

This is so stupid. Obviously it was the second clip, Magali Harvey from Canada.

Been an even better try and èasier conversion if she had passed inside. The welsh prop was my fave. The French girl had the worst attempt at a tackle when she saw her coming

@@rh5466 Decided by fan votes, apparently.
@rh54663 жыл бұрын
@@chrisrudsdale It doesn't matter, Chris. It's still a very myopic move on World Rugby's part. There are no 'rugby voters' (i.e., fans) in Canada, or at least very few, in both relative and absolute terms. This is the same reality in Ivory Coast, in Nicaragua, in Finland, in Cambodia, in Egypt, and many other countries. You want to grow the game? Tell the people living in those countries that there are people (men and women) playing rugby in those countries and that the tries they're scoring are great -- and rest assured they are, if World Rugby would only care to look. Of course New Zealanders are going to vote for an All Black try as "try of the year". No surprise. And the viscous cycle of rugby monopoly and stunted growth continues. Start paying due homage to other countries, and you'll start seeing a RWC that's more than a perpetual 5-horse race. I hope you're reading this, World Rugby.

Is this a joke ,the second try by Magali Harvey is miles better than Portia Woodmans. Oh that's right, Woodman is from NZ, and NZ always have to win these awards. What a joke.

All great tries, but I wouldn't have included the Wales try. It wasn't up there with the best. Typical broken play kind of try. I would have given the win to either the Irish try or English try. The English one being the better if I'm honest. The winner was actually the least impressive, even though it was great. The English and Irish players had an awful lot more to do. In the end after watching all of them again Danielle Waterman scored by far the most magnificent try. She was robbed. I cannot understand how the most nondescript try won it.
