I don’t often put my personal business online, but I didn’t realize that my wife of 18 years had some of the tendencies that Kevin talks about. The point that he made here about credit for success or failure was one of them. I didn’t realize how much that messed up my own personal growth when I felt like I was crazy for feeling upset, but media, family and friends all pointed to her being a good wife which meant that I was probably the problem. Now, mind you, I do have issues, but those were mine alone and her issues were OUR problem. Now, nearing our 19th year I’ve spoken to her and held up the mirror to let her see herself and let her know that I don’t plan on leaving, but I also don’t plan on continuing on like I am the root of all of our issues. And that I won’t be taking on all of our failures alone while she tells me that I’m not measuring up. It was a freeing experience. Thank you, Kevin.
