Blocks don't count as a touch apparently.

@@malcolm_in_the_middle If I'm honest, I really don't know. I saw this same thing in another volleyball video, and it was the explanation. I did some minimal research, and it seems that it's possible there are different rulesets. According to the FIVB rulebook approved for 2021-2024, rules 14.4.1 and 14.4.2 seem to indicate that blocking doesn't count: "14.4.1 A block contact is not counted as a team hit. Consequently, after a block contact, a team is entitled to three hits to return the ball." "14.4.2 The first hit after the block may be executed by any player, including the one who has touched the ball during the block."

@@BibleClinger That rulebook applies to indoor volleyball. There is a different rulebook for beach, and rule 14.4.1 states: "A blocking contact is counted as a team hit. The blocking team will have only two more hits after a blocking contact." This video may have been made under a previous rulebook, where the block did not count though.

@@malcolm_in_the_middle Thank you for the explanation. It doesn't look like it was that old of a video, so if there was a rule change, it seems to be recent. I am curious about the history of these rules.
