Your hair looks just fantastic. I am glad you liked Sight because I’ve been conflicted about it. It’s in the way to me. I actually really like the idea of Mermaid... for some reason I think The Essex Serpent when I see it. We agree on Sing, Unburied, Sing- which should have won the Pulitzer

+Ink and Paper Blog Oh my gosh, I’ve literally been having a bad hair month so you’ve no idea how much I love that you said that! Let me know what you think of Sight - defs not for everyone but I say you’ll like it especially if you go into it thinking of it as an essay.

So late getting to this video, but I am reading Sing, Unburied, Sing right now and I LOVE your description. I might not even review it, just send people to this video because otherwise I'd just repeat what you say here hahaha! I also loved your review of The Idiot, it sounds just like the kind of book that would frustrate me! Really interesting to hear your views on what you don't like in literature as, just as you say, you often keep your reviews to the positive side :) xx

Ooh I love when you give a critical / negative review. Don't think I've heard you give a negative review before but I kinda love it. Just dipped into Sing Unburied Sing and I loved it from the dedication. Loved this video from you. I loved your shirt too, it's gorgeous!

I really, really liked Home Fire and I'm looking forward to Sing Unburied Sing. I did enjoy The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock, it was ok. I had problems with Eleanor Oliphant.

I had only heard beautiful things about The Idiot before I read it and then read it and kind of hated it. I was really hoping I would like it because I thought it would deal with language (but it didn't really). I could possibly understand why other people would like it (certainly not love it though). It is so long and ... boring. Just like you, I felt like I was missing the point for the whole book. Haven't done a video for this one yet and don't know if I will honestly. Sing, Unburied, Sing was definitely my favorite. Amazing.

for you i hope you eventually learn to dnf...for us i'm hoping it takes some time as hearing your comprehensive takes on both the books you liked and the one you didn't are both comprehensive and entertaining...and in addition humble...it's so curious that "the idiot" is on the short list..and i was starting to feel interested in reading it after enjoying a piece this morning in the current New Yorker by elif bautman..
