"My wife trusted me with her debt" First stop... TIffany's! Such an awesome and sweet video! I am totally going to get my husband to go pick out some books for me! Last year for my birthday he just bought random books off my wish list but I like the idea of him picking completely different books that are not already on my list, that he things I would enjoy.

Well, my dearest Vix, I can tell you that I still watch you because you take me out of my comfort zone (as the books you showed here prove...because I cannot wait to read them! This is very unfair to my wallet but you presented them so engagingly that the spark of curiosity appeared in me). Now the issue is not to buy them or not, but which one should I buy first! (my unread books give me killing stares from the crowded bookcases). Well, I am also here for the amazing cocktails that were greatly missed...and because I adored how Phillip and you interact. You are a cool couple to hang out with (even if it is only digitally. As for what I did for Valentine´s Day, I didn't do anything special: I worked on my thesis and then started a scene in the novel I am writing. Hugs for both of you and more side-notes in the next one, please!

My dearest Vix, I am extremely glad to be able to watch your videos again. And I am very surprised to see that you chose food books and cooking books as a theme for your comeback video. I love the fact that Spanish and French traditions regarding food are practically the same. We celebrate everything with food, hahaha. As you stated, I find incredibly hard to find cooking books for disabled people (I used to cook more when I lived in the UK but my parents home, in Spain, is not adapted so I miss it very much) and I feel very angry about it because cooking, as an activity it gave me so much independence. Other than that I find that cooking books or food-related books because, as a wheelchair user, I have to be very cautious with what I eat as I don’t move so much and, as a result, I don’t burn all the calories I should (alongside the fact that last year I had heath issues related with food, although now I am well again). So, to me, the cooking books have to be easy for me to cook but also with food adapted to my needs and that´s extremely hard to find. Do you know any book of that sort? But I love your video and, especially the book about eating based in our instincts, Í´ll see if I can find it here in Spain. Lots of hugs from Spain (make sure you rest too!) Clara

If u r into art, have u visited all the art museums & galleries worth visiting in LA, Paris & London? That Musee D'Orsay. People say they go there to see the Impressionists but for some they really go to see the Decadents whose art can slip over the line into porn plain and simple. (Art can be art-landscape porn or art-food porn or art-mythological-setting porn to some, but no one else cares.) You haven't read that Pullman book in a long time, when you were really young like 14. That wuz a really long time ago. Right. Umm you still are young, just adult now. My cousin had 2 kids as a disabled person. It happens. She's been in a wheelchair since a '90s accident.

All books here sounds wonderfully filling and lovely and I've added Eat Up to my list. It's really good to see you again and hear your thoughts--they always put a massive smile on my face! I heard somewhere recently that most of us have disordered eating habits, regardless of whether or not we have a full blown disorder, and I think the push to understand our body's intuition when it comes to food is the answer to this. I've struggled with food in the past, and coming into my veganism (and I mean that--'mine', not 'raw' or 'high carb' or other trends that have failed me) has helped liberate my mind from that endless labyrinth of superstitious eating. Part of that has been about knowing I'm fueling myself with nurturing food, but that knowledge also allows me the freedom to indulge. A dash of my two cents! I hope you are well and that you have a very wonderful Christmas time!! xxxx

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, lovely! I agree that society had pushed us towards a total lack of understanding of appetite and pleasure surrounding food. It’s something that I try and push back on when I can (hence this video!) I really hope you enjoy Eat Up!! Xxxx

U can mix 'n match the best of food from 3 traditions, the French, British & American. How much would you say that French culture is food-based culture? Moving to NYC huh. I'm a country mouse. Too bizzy for me but some love it.
@BilingualBookworm
@BilingualBookworm 5 жыл бұрын
I think French culture is really heavily food based if only because most important moments seem to take place around food. I love that and I think it’s so important to think of food and mealtimes as this living breathing thing rather than simply a means to an end in terms of fuel and energy :)

I read #1 of the Expanse series and really enjoyed it, but my favourite character was Miller(?) but I hated Holden (someone who should be fed to the VZ's) so I've gone no further. (leaned or leant, both might be correct,I'm probably leaning more to the leant?)

1) absolutely incorrect about leant. An outrage!! 😉 2) I wouldn’t give up on Miller just yet my friend. He may not be as gone as you might think. As for Holden, I agree that he’s often irritating. I think the other books do a great job at introducing you to characters that agree with you on that.
