I understand the message she is a message to young girls and poc that they can do anything but she isn’t even relatively good at her job and should be held accountable for that but she isn’t because she’s a poc women. I used to think like that, but go breaking mom on reddit, they suffer burn out cause their husband don't help with anything, if don't have money or a career you can't leave, first wave feminists were fighting for a reason, not because they think working is fun, but because women were losing their lives being dependents on their husbands, they can start to abuse you, cheat on you, just be usless, suffer a accident and be disable and not manage to work or can die? What the hell they were suppost to do away from the work force for years? Being a stay at home mom is not a safe option and can fuck up your entire life.

This isn’t about how ‘being a housewife is bad’. This is addressing the issue of how most men back then and in power today only see women for an eligible housewife. She’s saying that now we have a women in power that can share her voice with/for us. I’m not saying being a housewife is bad btw, that’s why I put quotation marks Again, I said NOTHING about if men have it harder, if women get more lei way in society, if being a stay at home mom or dad is bad, NONE of that. Yes men have a lot of struggles too, people in general can’t just live life without being judged. Don’t put me in a box that says that I think that men don’t have struggles or that women need to be 100% treated on hand and foot. This is about one single issue, I know it’s not as much of a common thing people know about, and I said men in power because money and all that can blind you sometimes.

@@Acelyn_11 I disagree with helping a bit, atleast on the cleaning and cooking.(except for the first few years after childbirth) People don't realise how much you have to sacrifice to make enough money to support two people. You have to put consistent effort for atleast a decade and during that time the person has to limit his spending and time spend for leisure. Most men and women don't do this. So, they don't understand the idea that we had to put the effort in first and we are sharing that result with another. It really depends on what each person brings and the work each has to go through. I am not saying the wife should be burdened with work. But, if the work is little, don't expect 50/50.

Being a housewife is admirable. Being a career-oriented woman is also admirable. The importance is being able to choose the option you want without having pressure put on you to be someone you aren't. This applies to men too. Stay-at-home husbands and career-oriented men are both admirable choices. Edit: I feel like reminding people that this is my opinion and not everyone has to agree with me. Some of y'all make some decent points on the different perspectives of society and the double standards hindering people from choosing. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone nor am I undermining that different people have different situations going on 😅

Most people are tribalists who would say they agree with you, then turn around and get upset when you aren’t doing something approved by their camp. Some Conservatives prefer the housewife, some Leftists would say being a housewife is contributing to patriarchy. We will never win.

@@BigHotSauceBoss69 Yeah I kind of agree with you. I feel like some people add too much meaning to a person's choice based on personal beliefs, which overcomplicates things. I can't speak for everyone, of course. My opinion remains as stated above.

The housewife contributed more to society than the career woman, she is more valuable to the public than a Social Worker or Public School Teacher
@marim.87432 жыл бұрын
@@ethanlorenzo702 A housewife maintains order in the household and provides her children, if she has any, with a stable environment for their development. A career-oriented woman takes the initiative to bring income to her household and without her a significant portion of the workforce would be eliminated. Both their duties and roles extend far beyond that, but my point is that they are both valuable in different but important ways. You are entitled to your own opinion.

your missing the point. she isn't saying that women are better than men or vice versa, its more about the fact that women weren't allowed to do these thing in history and how far we've come as a society. Its also great to see representation for all the little girls who want to be in a power position. I mean, to be completely honest i am all for gender equality and stuff (not what feminism does right now) But thinking back on the last century...if women would have had the same responsibility as man, then they probably would have had it worse...equal rights also mean to bring the same ammount of work for example....in my country we had times with 14 hours work in factories and still haf not enough money to own a house... Not even 100 years ago it was men and women, but poor and rich... A rich women was just as independent as a rich man, and a poor women was just independent as a poor man...voting is one part, but when you get fired if you do not vote what your boss tells you, doesnt really give you the right to vote...women at least didn't have to work backbreaking jobs for 14 hours a day in a dirty unhealthy factory with a probably daily fatality rate...
