Seeing this after one year, after watching 5 world-class tournaments, and seeing countless instructional videos of various Judo styles ... I have seen this video in a new light, but the genius stroke of Won Hee Lee still amaze me :)

Taiotoshi perfected to left and right gives a huge attacking angle. A japanese instructor I knew in Japan said it takes 250,000 repetitions each side to master it and he used a wooden pole in the ground with rubber belts to practise this throw. He could really throw with Taiotoshi and it was almost unstoppable even when I retreated.

Interesting... He does numbers 5 and 7 grabbing the wrist, instead of the sleeve. And in number 5 it`s both hands in the arm. No lapel grip. This guy is awesome!

Lee is a stud. Tai otoshi is one the hardest throws to perfect.

@makikomi Seoi Otoshi means shoulder drop, which is what he did. Seoi Nage does have a lifting action, many people confuse drop seoi nage with seoi otoshi. Watch this video titled "seoi otoshi tai otoshi" for clarification.

perfect!. he grabs the whist of the oponent, gives him a lot more control, going to try that!

@makikomi It was a seoi otoshi, seoi nage has a lifting action.

it depends on the players. some people dont want to exhaust themselves doing groundwork, or they would rather try and go for the ippon with a throw. some people are stronger on the ground, others prefer standing work.

This guy is nasty in #7 not only does he switch stances from right to left he switches hand grips from right sleeve to left wrist in a second

Well, when it`s an ippon there is no point in continue with ground fighting, but I think you have a point when it is a yuko or a wazari. Many referees give no time for ne-waza. That sucks. Even though I like ne-waza I`m totally against victory by pin. I think it should score points, but never end a fight.
