I am really excited about building another one of these. This was my first attempt and I have learned so much. This is how I made a portable wood burner to cook on top out of an old gas bottle. Please leave a comment on things I could do to improve on this. Thank you

Wow. Yeah, that’s why I ❤❤❤you keeping me company in the wee hours of the morning. Such a neat idea and a lot of folks like me who had know idea what you can do with the empty propane tanks. I have several sitting out in the shed. They are past due for use and I have to wait until the city has a special day and I can take them down for disposal. I may have to pay for it also. Now I am going to contact the Boy Scouts and see if they are interested in making use of them. That’s going to last for years. It’s a definitely a good idea 👍. Alright have a good day. Sincerely.

Don’t know about you clay tall stories, but I love making fire wood stoves and heaters , it gets addictive iv even used the cylinder of an air compressor and car muffler pipe for the chiminy or even go bigger with the pipe wider and taller for draw and the smoke is higher above you and not in your eyes when the wind changes , maybe for your next one , you know you will . 👍

Nice clay as you said a round opening at the top the diameter of the internal diameter of the gas BBQ handles and keep the gas bottle handles as the cooking surface. Sweet little Hill billy stove. Also that pipe is galvanised it needs to be fully burnt off, other wise you will get gal poisoning. I would burn it for a week and don't cook on it until after that or you will have delirious sickness from the gal poisoning.

A thing a beauty! I did like it indeed. Really enjoyed how you took us through it step-by-step did the work yourself. I think it’s amazing that something so humble in origins can turn out to be something that’s an object of pride and fills a real need and thrifty to boot! I enjoyed the music and your dogs the whole thing I wish you success. I will definitely hit the like button.

I might have drilled half a dozen holes 5cm below the upper aperture and slid some steel rods across, to use smaller pans/kettle. Just a random thought.
@nakedhombre
@nakedhombre 4 жыл бұрын
1642- Nemo Me Impune Lacessit / yeah I see what you’re saying. It seems he had that one pan in mind. But I thought when he bought that brand new grill that part of that grill was going to go installed in the aperture somehow. I was surprised when he threw both halves in the bottom of the wood burner. But he’s the one who had the picture in his head , simpler and knew where he was going. I thought the whole thing was entertaining.

We'd been out pig shooting and walking back towards the house and one of my mates yelled out pig. Next thing I heard a shot ring out and the smell of LPG. The idiot had shot a hole through a dirty big gas bottle that was lying in the long grass with a 303. Lucky it didn't go bang and kill the lot of us. We did make good use of it after that to see what ammo would punch a hole through it. 12g with a solid bounced off it but to everyone's surprise, a 20g with a solid went straight through.
