You once mentioned how you treat the wood and sand the outer parts of the carvings, mind making a quick video of the process? What you treat it with etc. And a little treating tip from my dad. Try to get yourself wax, mix it with a tiny bit of terpentine or benzine to give it a thick paint consistency and use that as treatment, whilst rubbing off any bigger blobs of it with a small brush out of the deeper crevices, after the terpentine airs out the wax protects the wood and gives it a permanent, darker and wet look to it. this video helped me with how to shape a forehead and how to add texture to a beard, and just gave me direction on shaping the head.

By the way I can't buy a purpose made foot pedal for my Dremel in the UK, I've searched online everywhere, you have so many choices of tools and accessories over in Canada and the US than here in the UK, what I'd need to do is buy a sewing machine pedal and add the cables and the sockets and plugs myself, pain in the arse. You do a great job in carving. I m wanting to crave my walking cane its only 1 or 1.5 inches and out of I think oak. Would bits would you suggest?

A little tip for removing the slivers from your hand, get a old pair of pantyhose and wipe in one directing and 99 percent of them will come out >>are you can just put on a thin glove See Ya Texas
