Thanks for the video! I mostly carve with knives and gouges, as I am mildly autistic and really really really don't like the dust landing on me. But watching your video today makes me want to give a Dremel a try again, I always try to work through my o.c.d, and you make such great videos! So thanks again😁.

I know you think you might be giving us the same information over and over, but I really believe that is what it takes to get better. Yes I have watched you carve how many ducks in the last six months, but one just cant watch you one once or twice and become good at making heads and bills. The best baseball players in the world go back to spring training camp every year. Same way with carving, you have to see it and practice it again and again. Thank you Tom. Bruce Brandeberry Maumee. Us carvers got a gift with all these great videos. I purchase Toms painting videos which are just as great as these on KZfaq, I look as It as showing my appreciation for Tom posting these videos which are free on KZfaq.

Hey Tom, when carving in the eye channel from the front of the eye to the bill, should the eye channel always point toward the tip of the bill. Or will this very from duck breed to duck breed. I'm learning a lot and have enjoyed all your videos

In general any channel is there for the bird to be able to see forward when feeding so I try to keep that in mind. I don’t have a rock solid universal rule so I’d recommend that general guideline and then using your reference for the species you are carving Mike. I hope that helps.
