I'm having a constant battle with wood dust. Using shop vac's, cyclone filters, masks and fresh air. It never seems to be enough. I'm big enough to do something about it but not big enough to buy a large scale dust collection system.... YET!!!
I needed a quality air filtration system and I got just the right plan for my setup. Here it is..... Plans are now available. Order below:

I’ve probably watched 20 videos on shop air filters and this one makes the most sense, so I’m building this “model.” Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Dave, In the end you did a great job. I hope you keep it up. I am in the middle of building a filter system for my shop and I plan to incorporate a few of your ideas like the wheels and chord. Your presentation was excellent and the only complaint I have is the echo in your garage. I look forward to more of your creative ideas.

I just discovered your channel and like mentioned previously I think that is the nicest and cleanest box fan filtration build I've seen. I just wanted to mention that if you add a timer to it and let it run for about an hour after your done working you will probably see even bigger results

Nice build. I started gathering parts for this several months ago and just haven't pieced it together because I wasn't sure if I would hang it or make a cart. My space is super limited, so the cart would need to serve other purposes, maybe assembly or outfeed.

I love this build and I've been looking for something to help filter the air in my shop. Question...do you have a cut list and basic plans for this build. I'm trying to understand and see as much as I can from the video but I can't get all of it.
@levelupwoodworking
@levelupwoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I don't have plans at this time. I'm working on an outfeed table set of plans for my next video. Given enough interest I may do some in the future. I would say that the top and bottom could be out of any scrap plywood you may have available. The framing is the tricky part and as I said in the video I may have made it more difficult than I should have for me... I've been using it just over a month and I can visually see that it's working great. Will show an update on a future video....

After looking at lots of these air filtration assemblies, I am still confused on one aspect: Which direction does the fan blow? Inward or outward?
@levelupwoodworking
@levelupwoodworking Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion. The air flow in this design pulls the air through the filters and out the back of the fan. I did it this way so I know when the filters are dirty as they collect dust on the outside of the filters and are easily noticeable. I think it could be done either way and get similar results but I just wanted to know when the filters were dirty without taking one off to look at them. Thanks for your comment!

@ProjectAnubisUSA

It appears to blow outward and suck from the filters? Shouldn’t you have it blow inward to prevent dust from blowing everywhere? Unless you’re using it as a fan too…?

Yes, you are correct. Dust collects on the filters and I can see how dirty they are. I switch or clean the filters about every 30 hours. The fan could be turned the other way and collect dust inside the box as well. Thanks for your suggestion.

@davearcher1705

Sorry, that must have been cut when editing. I used two large washers and small screws to retain each filter. Only caught a small piece of the filter. Doesn't need much because the air pulls the filters in.
