A garden shed with windows may not be everyone’s idea of a good night’s sleep. But, for Britain's budding star-gazers, it could be a dream B&B.
Fortunately, the owners of the small wooden construction - called The Stargazer - have become unlikely hoteliers are charging couples £30-per-night for one of the UK's quirkiest rental accommodations.
And, according to reviews of the static Devon property, it's an ingenious DIY sight to behold.
The Airbnb description for the country escape says: 'A rustic stargazer where you can fall asleep watching the stars and wake up to the sound of birdsong!
A rural spot, far from street lighting, the sky lights up on clear nights. Simple, basic, but unusual accommodation. This is a wooden A-frame structure for two with glass roof.
The Stargazer also lacks a bathroom, heating and running water, but facilities come via access to the owner’s grand country home.
The large Devon stone house in a quiet valley on the edge of the pretty village of Holcombe Rogus, surrounded by countryside.
Detailing the property, the owner adds: 'The house is half a mile from the village, which has a small shop, a garage and a pub. The Prince of Wales pub does pub food as does the Staple Cross Inn which is about 3 miles away.
'Both Dartmoor and Exmoor, and the north and south Devon coasts, are about an hour away, and there are plenty of pretty walks close by, including the Great Western Canal.
'The cathedral city of Exeter is 40 minutes away, and the market town of Taunton 30 minutes. Nearby Wellington and Tiverton have a range of shops and supermarkets.
'If the weather turns bad we also have available a single room which you can use instead if it is not occupied. Please see separate listing.'
