I do love grey squirrels but the thought of having the reds run around instead... 😍

Once again you've educated me. I'd always presumed that all woodlice were detritivores rather than herbivores or even omnivores. I stand corrected. Where could I source sun beetle grubs? Are they sold as reptile live food? Many thanks for yet another insightful video.

Love to hear it! I was just as surprised when I first found out! Many woodlice aren't near as interested in protein as these species are but sadly these are the ones easiest to keep and best suited to some of my other enclosures. Do you live in the UK? If so, I initially sourced all of mine from ''reptilecentre.com'', they've got high standards and always send great stock! Otherwise yeah, most reptile livefood suppliers could get a hold of them for you! You'll have to let me know if you start your own colony! :)

Perhaps a small lizard or frog could stymie the tide of isopods.

I considered that, maybe with the mourning geckos but even if I found one to match the beetles environmental needs, I'd either need too many of them to sort the woodlice out, or one large enough that it could become a threat to the beetles. I'm not the biggest fan of co-habbing anyways to be honest, it's often a dangerous game sadly. Could be a great aesthetic if it was safe enough

Could you use it to grow out some young mourning geckos? Ive got 12 in a bioactive with springflys breeding in the tank for clean up and as a food source and they keep there numbers down quite well. I would imagine the beetles would be to big for them to bother with until they reach full size

The logistics of catching the young and adults to switch between enclosures would be a nightmare sadly. Not to mention the woodlice spend much of their time under the soil so would probably go unnoticed anyways. I like your thinking but we'll probably just build a new home for them anyway. Away from the others and avoid this whole ordeal happening again haha!
