You are a young man, so my advice to you is, buy the best dust mask you can find and put it on each time before you crank up the mill. I guarantee you will be thankful you did 15-20 years from now. The boards coming off the mill are beautiful. Paint the ends with a wax impregnated paint to keep checking down. You will save a lot of good wood down the line.

Beautiful oak!! Just a little story about an experience in Lowes hardware. I seen a guy with an 8' clear 1"x10" red oak board and I knew it was going to be expensive!! He got to the register and the lady picked it up and took it around to a measuring pole, came back and rung it up and said that'll be $85.60.......he said that the sign said it was $10 !!! She said "$10.00 per foot!!!🤪😜👍🤟 He put it back!!!

Such gorgeous boards coming off the mill, it's really no surprise you got a little star struck, and forgot to attend to one of the little details. Guess you were kinda the windshield and the bug that day, one then the other. (chuckle)

Take that junky sawdust chute off and cut some bigger slots then make a bolt on adjustable deflector plate and you wont have the clogging problems. Thats the first thing woodmizer needs to fix along with a throttle valve for the water valve. Man i really felt that when you hit that log stop lol, i have always said i will be the one who will cut one of those one day

I saw that log stop sitting too high and knew what was gonna happen before it did. I also have a new LX25 and have already done that too. You learn to drop the stops completely once the cant is square enough to nest up against the bed stops

great video. I am debating this sawmill or the next one up with the 14hp motor so seeing you cut the red oak with the lx25 has been a big help.

That big old log didn't seem to have been harmed much by being on the ground a year. Your sawdust chute was working well at the beginning. Did you remove the internal guard? That might help. I guess that internal guard keeps the ignorant from putting a hand into the blade. Have youi tried waxing or silicone spraying the discharge chute? Cleanup with a leaf blower really looks to be the easiest and most effictive at the end of a milling session. I hope you show us what all you got from that big log. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Got my log stop a couple of times a new blade and back to work. now i automaticly drop them or remove them after i square my cant

No shame in it, i also sawed into solid steel log stop on a timber king sawmill, the saying go there is the oneswho have sawed into log stop and the ones they will.

Loved your video. Beautiful red oak indeed. But just a curious question... why did you cut it as 2" thick stock instead of 3/4" thick stock? What are you using that 2" thick oak for?

We're just about to pick up our lx25, I'm curious, when you pull the cutter head back for another cut, why do you keep the blade right on the log? I've never ran a mill, or even seen anything besides KZfaq vids. I've got a big pine to mill, looks like I'll be able to do it based on this video

I see you did not get the sawdust chute to working as of this vid. I hope by now you cut out those bars so it would maybe flow better, that problem alone may stop me from getting this mill, I was until now really leaning to this one, but your and 2 other utubers have the same problem.
