I asked if people wanted me to do a Q&A video, they said yes. This is my first try at something like this, I did it in the simplest way I could think of: went for a walk with my camera and phone, and answered questions in the woods, by a river, near a mill, in the hills, in the snow.

A few things: ●There's a static sound at the start of this video, I don't know why and 5 renders with changes didn't change it. It's not there in the editing software, but is always in the rendered video. Hopefully that's not something that'll happen with every video. ●I'm aiming to have another video out this coming Sunday. I wanted to maintain a two week schedule for the whole of this year, and computer problems and life things got in the way, so I'm going to try and catch up. ●This is my first attempt at a Q&A video, I did it as simply as I could; it's probably not as good as I could do. I wanted for instance, to film me playing some new music as requested, but didn't get around to it.

Thank you for sharing as much about yourself as you were comfortable with. It really was quite a lot. I’m sorry if anyone asked inappropriate questions, humankind as a whole is quite nosy. I’ve enjoyed your walk along this icy river so much that I feel like I was there beside you, though heaven knows I’d never actually be out there risking a fall. So thanks for showing me the beautiful frozen scenery. It is so very clear in your videos how private you are that I could not dare ask a question, but I do appreciate the ones you answered. That was lovely, Tom. Having become mostly a hermit myself, I applaud your bravery in putting out this Q & A video. Nothing gets a stronger visceral reaction from me than strangers wanting to know things about me. That's a 180 degree change from my younger years, when I had the need to be seen and validated. I learned the hard way not to desire such attention. I like what I know about you, and what I don't know is none of my business. 😂😜 I do believe that you're going to have to live forever in order to get to all the things you want to do. 🤣🤣 Nevermind. If it gets you up each day, that's good enough. 🤗 I loved seeing all the ice sculptures, and the beautiful scenery. At times I forgot to listen, and had to rewind. Shame on me, eh? 🤣🤣 I continue to wish you all the best that Life has to offer. See you next time. 😁👍

Thanks Noralee, I agree... going to have to live forever to get everything I want to do done, and who wants to live forever? Not me. I'll get some of it done, and hopefully have fun along the way. I hope you're OK as a hermit, not missing social things too much. I'm a natural hermit, and it's a fight to do social things enough that I don't go a bit weird. 🙂 I wish you all the best that life has to offer too.

Sure, I gently fry a chopped large shallot in vegetable oil, add water, lots of Nutritional Yeast, a cup of White tea, a small pinch of Rose petals, some vegan bouillon (or salt), Tarragon, Marjoram, a bit of nutmeg, a few cloves of garlic crushed and finely chopped, a small splash of lemon juice, and either a spoonful of Tahini or Houmous. Mix in a small can of Broad Beans, and either some Artichoke hearts cut into cm chunks, or some Heart of Palm similarly cut. And serve stirred into a nice bronze-cut pasta. I don't know for sure that you'll like it, but everyone I've made it for so far has (about 4 other people). It's at it's best served right away, and changes if left overnight, I think the tannins in the tea take over.

Thanks Amanda. I'm sorry I haven't answered more of your comments, I've been quite introverted for the last few weeks, severely lacking in social energies. But I still read every comment, and greatly appreciate them. I'm sad that you're bed ridden, it's something that my mum went through for the last few years of her life, and it was hard to be a carer and see how hard it was for her. I'm glad that the content I make now can be an escape for people in the same situation. Of course I don't mind you trying to sing along with the music, I like the idea that you do. It's not something I can do (I've tried), they're in keys that my voice doesn't do well. 🙂

*Kia ora Tom, Wow it's your own music, it truly is beautiful. I sometimes feel that you had wished that you were born in a earlier era... just from your conversations with us, about your interests in much earlier times. I thoroughly enjoyed this video of the beautiful scenery covered in snow... and just hearing your soothing voice. Please keep on being you.... but also slowly step outside your inner feelings of not being around people. Yep that takes time... but one step in front of the other & one day at a time. We all have inner demons/issues to cope with... Yes if people should meet you & then only talk to you as they would a friend & not be all gushing etc. I am shy, but I can mix with politicians or even people on the street when I need to. I take photos so I can make myself 'invisible' and hide behind my lens... so I really do get what you feel. Kia kaha (stay strong) and be well & be safe.*

What a calming walk and video! It is good to know more about you and your views. Listening to your answers and the questions you said you hadn't had much success in melting metals into sculpture and I wondered why? I was curious if you have tried sandcasting? I would love to try making a frozen charlotte mold from hand casting then turning that into a wax Mould, then doing a sand cast making metal frozen charlottes for necklaces n such. I think it would be cool. I find a lot of copper and aluminum in the city , the only thing I don't have is a smelter or rather a small forge, perhaps one day I will. Beautiful video and I think it would be nice to hear your voice in a book reading. :)

Thanks Lisa, hope you're having a good day too. It regularly gets down that low here in Winter, so this one isn't considered a particularly cold one here. Thank you for answering my question. I would love to see your video of kayaking on the loch in Scotland. My aunt Dorothy lived near Loch Ness for six months in the 1960s. Her cottage was haunted as were many of our family homes. In searching for my notebooks for a witty few lines I found G. I. Gurdjieff’s book “Meetings With Remarkable Men “. My next quest is to finish reading it. Like you I studied the arts and eastern philosophy only to end up amazed by the creeks and rivers flowing down the hill where I live. To see the view you capture on a loch would be lovely. Again, thank you.

Thanks for asking the question. That video is the last video before this one, filmed on Lochindorb on the Dava Moor, Morayshire. It's a very tumbled down old ruin, and though there was a lot of dark parts in it's inhabited period, it didn't feel haunted. 🙂

As a polar bear at heart, I thoroughly enjoyed and was blown away by the beauty of this video. It is in my opinion, your most beautiful to date. My initial comment was a ramble of various things and would rather it be a message directly to you. I do appreciate the further history of your house as I once inquired after the windows in your work room. Everything you shared and spoke of in this video is much appreciated. I have seen a picture of you, which is only fair since you can see mine. ;) I'll never tell where or how I saw it. I will respect your request by saying, hello Tom, glad to see you, have a great day. I look forward to this year's videos and will try to not be so slack as I have been lately with watching you and all of the others I follow in the Larking field. Afterthought, the worst thing is to see how heinous humans can be in the destruction of life in all it's forms, being felling trees, killing animals, and not leaving nature as it was initially found.

Thanks Angie. I'm glad you really enjoyed the scenery. I've held off filming in Hardcastle Crags for a while, a little too busy usually for filming, but this seemed like the right time, and the right setting for this video. I don't mind that you've found a picture, I think one pops up if my name gets googled. It's quite an old picture, from when I was writing books, (as my primary creative outlet, not just as an occasional hobby)🙂. And yes, humans destructive tendencies bring me to despair many times.
