"Can I work as a foreign doctor in Switzerland? How do I do that?". This is the most common question I receive from colleagues all over the world.
The process to come and work as a resident doctor in Switzerland might be slightly different, according to your background. It is definitely much easier for EU Doctors and a bit more challenging for non-EU Doctors.
Yep, there are three different paths to follow according to your nationality and the country where you graduated. So, feel free to jump to the section you're interested in or watch the entire video, because there might be some good advices and tricks here and there. Not to mention my charming Italian accent! ;)
At the end of the video, you will understand that the REAL solution to all your problems is getting married!

Hello, Doc! Please tell me which is the best and most possible of these two options: admission with a diploma from a country that is not part of the EU at all or a diploma from Germany? Will there be any difference at all if I definitely don’t have EU citizenship? There was also a question, can I Is it possible to start a residency in Germany and continue it in Switzerland? And the last point - my ultimate goal is neurosurgery, is it realistic for a foreigner to get a job in this specialty in Switzerland or is it like in the USA - on the verge of the impossible?

2. Il cantone migliore dipende. Hello! I finished the university last year in romania and i’ve been looking for a job in suisse. I have my diploma recognised by mebeko, also a french b2 exam and ive been trying to get a job and i dont know why no one would hire me! Also today i got a call from medicalis saying i need to have the right to practice for the canton i wanna work in , and that will take more months and more money! What advice do you have for me? I plan to move next month and i can’t go and be jobless there with all my papers done and a doctor diploma. Thank you in advance!

Hi, you can't obtain the right to practice before you find a job, because it's the hospital that takes care of it. If your diploma has already been recognized, then you just need to send applications and applications until you find a place. It may be time consuming and very frustrating. Make sure your resume is well written and read your residency program carefully. If you need extra support, here's my consulting service unmedicoinsvizzera.herokuapp.com/#eng Best of luck, Stefano
