This is a very quick and easy project that I saw Jay Bates and April Wilkerson do a while ago. I had one sheet of plywood just sitting around doing nothing so I thought I'd give it a go. Here's a link to that video: • Shop Table From 1 Shee...
It was a really fun build and I highly recommend you do it if you need a table.
Here are some of the tools and things I use in my shop. If you purchase through these links, you will help me grow my channel (and I’ll receive a small commission too). Thank you!!

It's not really heavy duty but could be more with screws. People can say whatever but I've built a ton of stuff with plywood that's super sturdy. Not near as heavy. I like it. Way less weight . Nice little sturdy bench

I made one. It turned out great! I used screws instead of a brad gun, so it took longer. BUT.....am I the only person who found the dimensions of long stretchers were too long? I had to cut about 1.5 inches off each one in order for it to fit properly around the lower shelf. I'm glad I took the time to "dry fit" it before applying glue & screws. Another thing..... I had enough plywood leftover to glue a piece to the front of the upper stretcher so it's flush with the top in front. This gives me a place to clamp small work pieces to.

Nice. I love this design. I've made three so far from Jay Bates plans: Outfeed table; table for my wife's chicken cleaning operations, and one for my benchtop jointer/planer setup. Thanks for the vid!

What was the length of the brad nails ??? and was it 3/4 plywood?
@RPGWoodworking
@RPGWoodworking 3 жыл бұрын
it's 3/4" plywood and i think i used 1 1/2" brads...maybe 1 1/4"...i can't remember. the brads are really just to hold everything together while the glue dries. that's where the strength of the table is so use plenty of glue and you'll be good. i even stand on mine so i can reach a water cut-off valve to one of my outside spigots. this table is super sturdy! cheers!

Is is good enough for woodworking??
@RPGWoodworking
@RPGWoodworking 3 жыл бұрын
i don't think it's heavy enough for heavy hand tool work but general woodworking, like an assembly table or outfeed table, it's just fine.

the strength is in the glue joints...it's ridiculously strong! i've stood on it several times to turn off my water supply during the winter months.

"I cut it down ... Please give some measurements. I have the problem, that I can't get a full sheet of plywood to my workshop, because it's under the roof with a spiral staircase. Instead of referring to plans from other people, please talk a little more about what you do. I love the construction in the back. Don't be shy. I think you have some ideas, that more people would like to know about. Thank you for your video. ;)

If you notice, there is a link to the video of the people he reffers to wich has all the data and measures needed. He probably didn't say all to boost their video. Also, it wouldn't be right for him to get all the info from someone and just posting it in his own video 🤷🏻‍♂️

@evioloncello You don't have to buy anything. You can download the plans for free on the website that he links to. I didn't ask for a handout. I wanted to know, if he modified the measurements like I did.
