Hey Cassie! What a wonderful video, I've always been curious to see what goes on in the background of an Etsy shop. I would love to see a video showing the business side of things. Have you ever broken down the costs of material and labour? What are the actual profits like in the end, if you were to convert it to a per hour salary for example? I hope that's not inappropriate. Hi! Thank you! You do not have to seal vinyl! It is best not to cover it with any type of sealant! I have seen people use mod podge but I have never tried it myself! I hope this helps! ❤️

Thank you so much! Yes, I do! I typically use each foam brush twice and then I'll trash it! I just rinse them off after the first use and then let them air dry.

This video is awesome! Thank you for sharing! What fabric cloth are you using to wipe the 1-12 month acrylics? And what do you use when you put something between each disc? I’ve been trying to figure that out. Also, do you seal the paint with anything? I’ve been using acrylic paint but do you recommend anything else?

Thank you! The fabric cloth is a microfiber cloth! Here is the link to the ones I get amzn.to/3J6plle The paper I put between the milestones is parchment paper. Yes, I seal with Polycrylic! I love Folkart acrylic paint and Valspar paint!

Thank you ☺️🙏🏻 I just have a question...after you paint the acrylic, do you seal them with anything?? I was thinking mod podge but I don't know if it's actually necessary and if that'll keep the paint from scratching or peeling off...also, do you just wipe the paint off if you don't like how it looks or you make a mistake?? Hello! Thank you! I actually am going to talk about this in my next video! Definitely use a thicker paint or paint multiple coats (letting each coat dry in between). I use Valspar paint and it's been the best for getting the opaque look to my acrylics!

Good afternoon! I am using the rounds with the holes that you use, but am having the hardest time getting my ribbon through the holes. Is there a trick to it? You make it look so simple. I have to have a tool to poke mine through. I am using ribbon similar to the ribbon you use.

Hi! I just fold the ribbon at the very end and press it through the hole! I'm not sure if there is any trick to it. Are the holes in your rounds super small? If so, maybe you could try a round with larger a hole to make threading the ribbon through easier!

Hello! I know exactly what you mean! That drives me crazy too! Try doing another coat of paint. Or adding a thicker layer of paint if that makes sense. Also, the type of paint you use is crucial too. I’ve found that thinner paints are so hard to work with. Try using a thicker paint if possible! I hope this helps! ❤️

Hi Cassie - glad I found you. I am considering starting a side business with my Scan Cut. But before I ask for time off, do you think it is possible doing this kind of vinyl cutting, for signs for example, to make $200 per day on Etsy and how log it might take working 8 hrs per day to get up to that volume? I am nervous to make the change but so motivated to do so. I appreciate your opinion. I am going to binge watch your videos 🙂

Hello! I totally see where you're coming from! I would say, it's definitely possible but it may take some time! I always tell people that with a business on Etsy, you get out of it what you put into it if that makes sense! If you are wanting to go all in and really pursue it then you will definitely be successful! ❤️

How do you prevent the paint from coming off the acrylic? If it's bumped for example. Did you put a clear vinyl over it or seal them? I didn't see that part on the video. Just curious, thank you :)

I use very high quality paint & add a clear coat of Polycrylic to the painted area!

Hi Cassie! Your video is very inspiring. I fell in love with the font from your milestone cards (Adelia) and even purchased access to Creative Fabrica from the link under your video so I could download that font to my computer. There are unfortunately several fonts with that name on Creative Fabrica, is yours the one by Artkenza creator? It seems to be the closest, but the letters like g or v for example are not as in your video. Unfortunately I don't see a link to this font in the video description. Could you please let me know who created this font? I would be very grateful for your help! Thank you!

I went to the acrylic blanks website from Canada where you get some of your items. Apparently they have a laser malfunction and are not accepting orders until further notice! We need Sallie to laser cut us some blanks! I was going to order some blanks using your link, to see their quality. I know you mentioned before it’s a little bit pricier but you’re always impressed with their quality. I found an acrylic place in TX that I like and have ordered a few times already, but sometimes it’s a hit or miss with quality. Otherwise I would have sent you a link.

@@justthethreeofus5055 yes! I’m ready and patiently waiting for Sallie to start cutting acrylic! Haha! Right! Acrylic Blanks has great quality! I haven’t found another place in the US that cuts shapes like AB! If you find a good place please let me know! I ordered some acrylic sheets from Houston Acrylic in Texas and the quality was so good! If you’re looking for larger signs I definitely recommend them! I’m going to see if they do custom orders for smaller shapes too.

Hi! The font for the word Bride is called HANDITA and the fonts for the monthly milestones are LOVES and ADELIA. I get them from Creative Fabrica. I have a link for them in the description box of this video!

I did not take any courses before opening my Etsy shop, but I did practice for months and did a ton of research about starting a business to be sure I was doing everything right! Simply Sallie here on KZfaq does have a great course for new Etsy sellers though if you're interested!
