I'm a truck driver and I just installed a 3.5 ton Goodman condenser. I get everything to working pretty good just before I need to leave for work. I go to unhook my low side line and the valve stem is leaking. I put a metal cap with a seal on it and went to work. I bought a valve stem installer last year and now after watching your video. I'm going to put it to work.

What is wrong with ppl thinking that your house needs to be a refrigerator in order for them to feel cool...Mobile homes are poorly insulated and they expect a mini split to cool it down like it's the polar ice caps...SMH!

I don’t know why people schedule appointments knowing they have to be gone in that time window. You did about the only proper thing you could in the time you have. Charge and watch should have got you pretty close and by the scale and the fact it was icing you did 😅. At least there wasn’t a hornets nest on the condenser or something mean like that lol

Curtis if I could make a suggestion with those core removal tools, use the secondary refrigerant port on them to release the gas that's trapped in them so you don't damage the O-rings in the plunger before pulling off the core tool

Have carried out same procedure as you when under pressure, not an ideal world.
@sjp714
@sjp714 23 күн бұрын
Any time there is a refrigerant leak in a refrigerant blend, the higher pressure refrigerant will leak out at a faster rate than the rest of the blend resulting in changed saturation temperatures. Therefore, adding refrigerant will help but the system will never operate at the designed ideal temperatures and pressures.

I saw absolutely nothing wrong with the way you charged the thing. What a rig, it doesn't look like enough A/C for that trailer to start with. You did a nice job as far as I'm concerned. Why the tenants rushed you is ridiculous to start with. Do they not want the ac fixed? Also the landlord is taking care of it. Plain stupid if you ask me. Thanks for sharing.

1) mini splits spec is for charge to be weighed in 2) any time there is a significant leak on 410a and a top off is done then we don’t know if we have correct blend of refrigerants anymore 3) maybe something more I don’t know about? sometimes something like this is the best you can do on a specific job, still very important to know what is proper and why so you can intelligently decide to do it differently

Nice job! But since they were leaving maybe they could leave remotes with you and/or then you could cut power from outside, remove refrigerant and weigh in factory charge after replacing valve cores? Then power back up. Use remotes to turn back on and leave them by door. Since they were gone. This actually happened to me lol 😊 but not a valve core issue

Aint nothing wrong with what you just did. Yes proper way is to pull charge and weight in oem amount, but aint nothin wrong with charging on the fly and checking delta t of your indoor temps and suction pressures. The hard part is not knowing exactly how fast the compressor is running with inverter systems!

@optionstraderman
@optionstraderman Ай бұрын
Yeah, I still don't know why they don't put both ports on those condensers so you can monitor and charge them like standard compressor a.c. units. Seems like saving a few dollars on a valve with a port in it causes a lot of heartache for the tech, and lots of extra work for the tech and cost for the customers when you have to dump the charge and then sell them all new refrigerant, remove the old refrigerant, and dispose of the old refrigerant and maybe even install a new dryer. Such a waste of time and money to save the cost of a valve. I don't get it!!!

Tenants are the worst in many cases. Maybe they should live a few days in the heat and humidity then make an appointment with them. That'll likely encourage them to see to it they make time for the needed service. This is the problem we have with landlords who are dealing with tenants that are "entitled" and expect perfection in every aspect of their housing needs.
