I thought I would let you know; I like the drive time to the customer. They give you very little information and you tell us the things that might cause their issue.

It is very noisy but Steve said that is part of the experience. I've come to appreciate that view.

The last short I spotted was due to wires going out to the condenser also. The the Thermostat wires were spliced in two deferent spots! The stat wire going to condenser was spliced in a closet, and under the kitchen sink. The the stat wire under the kitchen sink were spliced together with wire nuts and two of the wire nuts came off (the red wire and the blue wire) and they made contact with each other causing the short. On top of the whole thing the insulation to the red and blue was deteriorated as the stat wire exited out from under the kitchen sink going through to the dishwasher. What a nightmare! I have been waiting a long time to see you solve a "short". I have learned allot from your videos since HVAC school at Tidewater Tech Trades in Norfolk VA. They still watch your videos today.

Seems like the last few service calls you posted had Fluffy screwing things up . I'm surprised they don't make the wiring with no access for the critters!

You can’t stop a Trane mama! (They stop themselves lol!) All the best Steve!

Just replaced a fuse in an older version of that air handler. It was one of those tubular glass fuses that have the plastic cap permanently attached on one end. Cost about $10. Should have replaced the whole fuse holder with one of those 3A poppers.

Ted says it hard to stop a Trane but not for mice. I also like how the panels just fly off. I guess that's how it reminds you to check the filter.
@TheDigitaldoug17 күн бұрын
Seems Trane can't design an air filter door that works all the time. I wonder if that design carries over into the main AC components. Damn bean-counters trying to save money while screwing the customers.

Not a problem, but more a question of why I never see you use the common drill or impact driver when removing or installing screws and bolts. Lastly, why didn't you replace the insulation on the outside vapor line?
