I can see the usb drive in device manager and in minitool partition and even diskpart list disk command but cannot see it in windows explorer. Windows 10 says the device is working properly. I've tried it in different usb ports and I can't see it. The computer makes a sound each time I insert or remove the stick.

Sometimes (for some weird reason) your drive will only show up if you plug it into your PC's USB 2.0 ports - not the USB 3.0 ports. (under the premise that your device has USB 2.0 ports)

Yes, I've had this issue. Most devices are fine on either port, but USB drives only work on the first one (luckily my PC does have 2 of each!)

Question for anyone: How do I get control of a USB driver that just doesn't want to read it? I've got a replacement for my USB that sometimes reads and sometimes doesn't, like my debit card that the gas pump doesn't like some of the time.
