If you want to get lower abs fast you are going to need to do a couple of things that are especially important. First, you will need to get your nutrition cleaned up. Due to the fact that most men and many women tend to store fat in their lower abdomen it is often the last to come off and therefore requires a higher dedication to eating right to get rid of it. Second, many people don’t train their lower abs correctly or simply don’t have the strength to do lower ab workouts right.

While it is anatomically impossible to isolate the lower abs from the upper abs and get them to contract independent of the other, it is possible to influence the fiber activation of one area over the other. This is due to the fact that the different areas of the abdominals have different nerve innervation and that there is evidence to support that movements the are initiated with the pelvis moving towards the shoulders can recruit better fiber activation of the lower abdominal region.
That said, there is a big downside to lower ab, bottom up exercises. The fact that these moves require that you lift the weight of your legs makes them instantly more challenging and demanding than top down shoulder to pelvis ab exercises. What winds up happening is those whose lower abs aren’t strong enough wind up overtaxing their hip flexors and not getting enough work for their abs.
This lower ab workout solves this problem.
By incorporating hip flexor relief exercises in between the classic exercises for lower abs that involve lifting the legs, one is able to tolerate the moves better and get through the whole ab workout. In the long run, this allows you to build up the strength of your abs and get better at the workout. There are three levels of ability provided in this lower abs workout.
Beginners perform the hip flexor dominant ab exercises for 15 seconds and immediately follow this with a 15 second rest before moving onto the next movement.
Intermediates perform the exercises for 20 seconds and immediately follow this with a 10 second rest before moving onto the next lower ab exercise.
Advanced perform the ab exercises for 25 seconds and take just 5 seconds rest before proceeding to the next exercise in the ab workout.
That said, when it comes to the hip flexor relief exercises, all performers of the workout regardless of their ability level are doing to perform the exercises for 25 seconds with 5 seconds rest due to the fact that the weight of the legs has been taken out of the equation.
When the 3 minute lower ab workout is complete, take a one minute rest and then get back in there again and repeat for a second round. In total, this workout will target your lower abs better and do the job fast. You can complete this ab workout in just 7 minutes. It is recommended that you do some type of ab training at least 4-5 times per week. That said, you can train your abs daily and not have to worry about overtraining provided you are following a brief but focused ab workout like this.
The specific workout for lower abs looks like this:
LOWER AB MOVES
1A. Figure 8’s
2A. Bicycle V-Ups (Hand Spotted for Beginners)
3A. 3-Way Seated Ab Tucks
HIP FLEXOR RELIEF EXERCISES
1B. Lower Ab Swipes
2B. Heaven Presses
3B. KTE Crunches
Complete all reps without resting during your time (determined by your ability level above). Alternate between A and B exercises until all 6 are completed.
If you’re looking for a complete lower ab workout program that will get you ripped six pack abs and includes a daily meal plan for losing body fat fast, be sure to check out the Core4 Abs program at athleanx.com and start training your abs with a purpose.

When trying to row with my right arm (dumbbell) I feel like I am stuck and can't contract my back fully as I can with my left arm doing a dumbbell row. How to fix that? Basically I can't contract my right shoulder blade when rowing.

I tell everyone I know about this channel, you've taken my athleticism to the next level! @@athleanx If somebody is interested, here are some comments, that I was able to found in previous videos: The Low Back Pain Solution (DO THIS FIRST!) Is it suitable for disc bulge First, get evaluated by an MD. Remember, not all disc bulges revealed by an MRI are symptomatic. Many of the findings are visibly present but not clinically significant. In either case however, chronic rest is NOT going to be your solution. Pre-op strengthening, post-op strengthening, preventative strengthening, etc. The theme is the same. Movement and strengthening. The herniated disc is going to limit movements to extension based movements early but you'll still be moving. (Athlean-X member here) GREAT info, thanks! But... how many reps? How many sets? How often - daily, every other day, twice a week? When to progress to next “stage” or exercise? Once deadlifts are do-able, should one keep progressing with weight? Also, how do you feel about inversion chairs/tables?? Thanks Darrin, I responded to a similar comment. The sets and reps could be as little as 10-15 cumulative for the WEEK in the specific exercise that you are working on at the moment. The goal is not to do ALL of these at one point but rather to progress through them to the one you are able to handle without pain and aggravation of symptoms but still presents your top challenge. When you reach the deadlift, you'll be able to continue to increase your weights used to keep strengthening your back...and able to incorporate the row as well at that point provided your deadlift isn't causing any issues. Inversion chairs and tables can provide temporary back relief particularly if you are dealing with joint compression or degenerative spinal conditions but they are not permanent solutions. Jeff, how long are we \"supposed\" to be sore/tight after a workout, and what does that soreness actually mean? For example, if I train chest & triceps on Monday, and by Thursday or Friday those muscles are still sore/tight, does that just mean I had a really good workout on Monday? Or does it mean I'm not recovering properly afterwards? Soreness is not really an indicator of a \"good\" workout or for that matter a bad one in the absence of soreness. The primary driver of soreness from your workout is from eccentric stress. You could theoretically do one set with a spotter helping you to perform slow eccentrics after reaching concentric failure and be so sore you couldn't touch that muscle for a week. Volume would be almost zero but soreness off the charts. How many times a week should this been done? The goal here should be slow and progressive. These are not meant to be sped through. Approach each one in sequence and be sure you can perform them (3-5 sets 2-3 times per week) without exacerbating symptoms and with proper form and range of motion. The goal is to move to the next exercise in the sequence only when you have built the strength and mechanics needed to handle the next exercise. That said, if patience and persistence is used, the long term freedom from back pain will be worth every bit of time spent doing it right. I promise.

Hey Jeff, You probably wont see this but about 8 months ago, I began my fitness journey. I got skinny fat thanks to some horrid advice and had no idea what I was doing. After searching for ways to achieve the physique I wanted, I found your channel. I watched your skinny fat video and reluctantly started eating more and began weight training with dumbbells (so thankful I had these). Sure enough I started seeing positive changes and lost my fear of carbs and what not haha. After this, I started watching more of your videos, set up a workout schedule, and started feeling like I was on the path to success. As the weeks went by, I began gaining muscle mass and started to see the outline of my abs which I never thought I would ever see. The weeks turned into months and the gains kept coming. I got to experience the feeling of getting stronger little by little and getting that one extra rep in here and there. I went from not even being able to concentration curl a 30 pound dumbbell to being able to fully curl 2 45 pound dumbbells at the same time for multiple reps as well as many other improvements in other exercises. I'll never forget the day I finally saw the outline of my six pack and the day when I realized I had gotten a true six pack. Fast forward to today and I've got a completely different mindset, I'm loving my diet and have zero fear of food (Love carbs, ALL my homies love carbs), plus I'm still getting gains all thanks to you. twitter.com/VirtueVLCN/status/1280641697823760384?s=20 About an hour ago, I trained and followed along with this ab routine at the advanced level with no slip ups or pauses aside from the rest times. It truly amazes me how far I've come since I clicked on you channel all those months ago. This has been an incredible 7 months and I can't thank you enough for all the help you've given me and the countless others who have watched your videos. I look forward to your future uploads and can't wait to get some new gains. Once again, thanks for everything :) p.s. The Jesse intros are freakin awesome hahaha

Training the triceps should not present a problem for you as medial elbow pain is caused almost exclusively by pulling exercises. The biceps are another issue however. The best thing you can do is switch to bands for now. It is important to not do any exercise that blatantly re-inflames the tissues again (one that you can feel hurting even as you do the movement) since this will only prolong the inflammation and issue. The bands can be held deep in the hand rather than in the fingers and give relief at the bottom of the curl since their resistance curve is lowest at the point when the tendons causing this problem are most stretched.
@itriedthisand
@itriedthisand 3 жыл бұрын
I followed two steps 1) ramp up ur collagen intake 2) make your forearms stronger, to an extent of having a day only for forearms elbow sleeves also help to support your movement and avoid exercises which involve violent movements like battle rope workouts. Some exercises may have to modified according to the condition. I switched to nuckle push-ups instead of regular ones. Avoid skull crushers, use ez bar for biceps etc

For abs, with the heaven presses, just do a full leg lift. It’s what I do. Instead of staying elevated with your legs, just.. do a regular leg lift 😅 but at the peak of it, that’s when you do the heaven press. Jeff has a 5 minute follow along ab workout, you could do that with him at the same time and it’ll definitely set you straight
