Great tutorial - I have been looking for information about exporting mesh objects for vistas for a while and this tutorial is a good reference. Likewise with the splat maps - I have been trying to work out hope to export slope maps and flow maps from WC to UE5 for a while and this really helps.

When i export splatmaps, i have only one file. Maybe its an update right?

Thankyou very much I have old slope maps from world machine, and have been looking for exactly this, I got it working ok but I'm wondering if one could use vertex groups to assign. I'm new to blender so I may be on wrong track. If it's possible how is it done in 3.3 plz ? ( convert a b/w map to a vertex group). So I can try I'm new but having a try at the mission to minerva if poss. Many thanks for tutorials.

I wish I could export my 3d App Camera back to World creator...just to see the workflow view so its identical in both apps instead of guessing. I hope they include that someday. Even an animated camera sequence would be great for a quick fly through and render a playblast.. so you can use that to check how things are aligning and if your heightmap is correct..

wouldnt the Blend type be better because its accounting for opacity & overlap, where as Layered is kindve like a solid color splat map. I feel like if you used a Landscape Material in UE it would quite literally blend better because opacity of each material is accounted for. I'll try to test this

Taylor, is 8k highest resolution for maps that we can export? Currently WC3 does not support higher? Maybe it does not have to and 8k is enough? I'd love to hear your view on this.

Is world creator capable of making high-quality mountains for close up shots? The texture quality seems to only be for foreground/background.

Hi, I have a question that has been bothering me for a long time, and that is how to make a 1:2 or 1:3 scale map in GAEA. I would appreciate if I could receive a reply

Always change the Color Space of your Normal Map to Non-Color. The only maps that should be set to sRGB color space is the albedo map. Use Linear for EXR.

When I export my splat maps I only get one image that is a combination of all of them. How can I fix this??

When you export for unreal, would layered or blend give the most accurate result? I know they made some changes from ue4 to ue5, in that ue4 you import your splats 1 by 1 whereas in ue5 you import them all at once. Would you use layered for UE4 and blend for UE5?

Within WC, I think I would just use Layered for both UE4/5...that way in Unreal you have the freedom to tailor the splatmap a little bit more. For example, maybe you want more of the rocks to come through or more flow erosion to appear...if you choose blend, then you are removing detail from some of the maps based on the way they are "stacked" in world creator. If you use layered, then you get the maps full map/mask based on the colors distribution rules. So, it just gives you a little more freedom to customize them in Unreal I believe.

Hi guys,how can i export 1025 by1025 size?I tried to modify the output options,but it doesn't work.

The version that I showcase in this video doesn't allow for custom terrain sizes...unfortunately, but the latest BETA release does. However, exporting with the latest version is missing right now but they are working to revamp exporting all around. Otherwise, these terrains are locked to 1024x1024 in terrain size, but again, that's changed since this video.

Can you please make a tutorial for the second method without going all the time "you can do this way" and later you just delete it all and start doing it another way. Not everybody understands what you are doing and why sometimes and I am sure everyone new to it will be more that happy just to follow something defined rather that watching you trying something. Also please do it with a landscape that has water. I tried both methods and for some reason a water layer is always missing in blender. Also in Vulcanic landscape I cannot see any lava when I use the 1st method of Blender. I bet the best way will be to create a landscape in WC3 and then using all files imported from WC3 create exactly the same landscape with all matching colors and layers in Blender.

If i export this to twinmotion, will there be separate materials so i can apply twinmotion materials to each color/texture? I tried colormap, but then i only can add a single material to the entire mesh. With separate materials i can change them individual.

there is something that makes World Creator very unsympathic to me: the fact, that they the Makers of WC are on one hand targeting also single persons and Indieusers but denying everybody who is not smelling like a big company. I tried now several times to get a Trial version (wich is also a wired, since everybody else is simply sharing a good "community" version wich gives Users the most of taking an overview what a program does or not. 7 Days is also a joke, since it needs time to check it out. Sometimes I only have a some quarters of an hour under a week, to do some tests. I don't understand anything of this at all. Do you know why this is?

I’m not sure why a trial version couldn’t be achieved to be honest? It may be something that could be achieved once this better version comes out! 🤞🏼
