Such a great concept to have the players comment on their own moves as if you're in their head listening in, very creative, entertaining and educational.

Yeah it’s a cool format. I wonder how they do it? Maybe they take them to a small room partway through the game during pauses in the game and then just edit the video?
@omegaamigo2 ай бұрын
@@josueramirez7247 The players play the game as normal, the producers do all the recordings immediately after the game, while their thoughts are still fresh. Then they edit it all together 🙂

@@omegaamigo Yes, the idea was pioneered by the bbc master game series, also on youtube.

These uploads are really instructive. Hearing the players ruminate on the position is the best way of teaching the subtleties of the game. Fabulous.

Surprising opening choice by Spassky. Karpov is usually irresistible on the white side of the Pirc.

Thanks for these. I remember watching much of these as a child, and as a chess addict already these programmes were absolute gold to understand the game better, and as entertainment.

Very good at seeing how they think, not all tactics. Thank you for posting

the little words of the players are those real from some post notes or just an enactment on what they might have been thinking real time? it was really impressive to do that really gets the viewer into the game in a different way. enjoyed this so much

Thanks a lot for sharing this game, I was looking for it a while back. Very instructive commentary, nice prophylactical play and adaptive micro plans.

Thanks for uploading this videos. I guess you are the same person that had uploaded it many years ago? It was a pity that they removed it back then...

When are the players doing the narrating without the other player hearing their thoughts???

I don't think people realize just how much of a monster Karpov was as a chess player. Easily top 3 of all time with Kasparov and Carlsen.
@nuwandalton2 ай бұрын
He's the last Gutenberg WCC. Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand were hybrid. Carlsen is on digital steroids

Great stuff. Poor girl trying to keep up was so funny in the not digital age. I would not have fared better!

Of this tournament, my favourite games were those played between Spassky and Timman, with very instructive comments by both players. I hope you upload them here. 🥸
