@@matthewshaffer829 Most people are wrong a lot especially in horse racing. I don't have a crystal ball but I do think I've raised some cogent arguments as to why the Flightline bandwagon may lose a wheel. I admit that would make me very pleased because I don't want a trend for trainers and owners to race a horse every three of four months and then retire the animal to stud.

And do you think that the bunch that he beat in the BCC would want a rematch with him again? That’s if Flightline would’ve continued his winning ways. Who would what to run against him to try to beat him? Many multiple Grade 1 & 2 winners faced him & not 1 came close enough to even put up a photo finish at the wire. Prat said, that he just rode him all 6 times. He held him 3 lengths behind LIG, then let him lose . Flightline took off on his own. And once again Prat was surprised on how he fired every single time. ON HIS OWN! That times that you post up on all those horses mean nothing at all. Why ? Because every horse that you mentioned have lost. Having lost 1 race or two hurts more then having a track record. That track record will be broken then what? No need to beat down a horse all alone winning effortlessly by many lengths. So say what you want. But Flightline retired a TRUE CHAMPION ! And there is a saying “ EVEN CHAMPIONS LOSE”. But you will never be able to say that to a horse you have put down till the very end. And if you didn’t like him at all. Then what will you do when his tribe start running give in or out? You just talked the talk.

@@jeffb5785 Poor opposition compared to a usual BC Classic field. The best horse was not a mile and a quarter horse (Life is Good) and the only one to win at a mile and a quarter was Epicenter. Beating a tired, mediocre bunch for the Breeder's Cup level of competition is not that impressive nor was his time which was over a second slower than Ghostzapper's BCC record and slower than Secretariat's which was set when he was THREE YEARS OLD over a much more tiring Churchill track. 1:59 2/5 compared to Flightline's 2:00.05 for a FOUR YEAR OLD. Secretariat's time was after starting last and going around the others on the turn. Let's see how Flightline is doing after running 21 times. (Which he'll never do at the rate he's rested between races.)

@@vernonfrance2974 Unfortunately Epicenter was pulled up due to an injury today but he and no other horse was going to beat Flightline today his 2:00 finish was because he had no need to go faster, he won his last race easily at 1:59. I don't know what he has to do to prove he is SPECIAL, even the other trainers concede he's something special.

@@jeffb5785 He ran considerably slower over the same track as Authentic did when he won the BCC against a much more accomplished field. Authentic - winner of the 2020 Kentucky Derby, and automatically qualified by winning the Haskell Invitational Improbable - automatically qualified by winning both the Whitney Stakes and Awesome Again Stakes. He also won the Hollywood Gold Cup Tiz the Law - winner of the Belmont Stakes, Travers Stakes, and Florida Derby Maximum Security - automatically qualified by winning the Pacific Classic. He also won the Saudi Cup and San Diego Handicap. Tom's d'Etat - automatically qualified by winning the Stephen Foster Handicap. He also defeated Improbable in the Oaklawn Mile By My Standards - winner of the Oaklawn Handicap and Alysheba, along with three second place finishes in graded stakes Authentic was robbed of the track record because the timer didn't function properly so they had to use a hand timing and could not agree well on the final time although it still was faster than the "Wonder Horse's" time. "Authentic broke the Keeneland track record set by American Pharoah five years ago in the same race. The teletimer did not function properly so the race was hand-timed, initially in 1:59.16 based on the video and then in 1:59.60 using additional camera angles."

I want to see him defeated because he has not earned his stripes and is being treated as if he were a super horse.

True. All except Hot Rod Charlie traced back to Secretariat, some twice and one three times. That was Olympiad.

No offense, and I really mean this. But everything you just posted about Life Is Good's accolades are absolutely irrelevant, completely, if he's going up against a superior horse. Faster is just faster. I could win 100 races in a row against 12 year olds on 100 different surfaces, and then when it comes time to racing against Usain Bolt, and I am...simply...racing against someone faster. Point blank. Speed is a head-on contest, not a résumé competition. Flightline is simply faster.

@@mikewilliams592 No Offense taken. I think whether or not Flightline is faster is: a) not yet demonstrated. He's handled inferior horses and come from behind horses but Life is Good is last year's BC Dirt Mile Champion. He's beaten another very fast horse Knick's Go at a mile and 1/8 in the Pegasus World Cup which Knick's Go won the previous year as well as the Breeder's Cup Classic last year. He won it at Del Mar in a time (1:59.7) close to the same as Lifeline, relaxed and under no pace pressure, ran the 1 1/4 (1:59.28) over the same track this year and everybody is going gaga about it. b) less likely if his lack of experience and head strong temperament lead to him getting in a speed duel. That could cook his goose and Life is Good's too, setting it up for some very good closers in the field.

Only way flight line get beaten now unless he is not sound from he is sound he is a very hard horse to beat

Secretariat aka Big Red was the horse that got me interested in horse racing when I was 13. He was an amazing horse and there have been so many since him but Flightline is really special. Seattle Slew also gives me fond memories, and the Alydar vs Affirmed duels but oddly enough I was rooting for Steve Cauthen because we were born on the same day.

Secretariat had proven himself and was not a mere flash in the pan.

@@michaellucas669 As a three year old after the grueling campaign from two on, he naturally had a few hiccups. So do all great horses. However he won against older horses of the highest quality in the Marlboro Cup in World Record Time and one of those was Onion who he'd lost to at Saratoga. He also beat the best turf horses in North America twice and they were also older horses. As a four year old, as long as he was sound, he would have been even better.

My qeuss is he was hurt as a two year old and alot of his three year old campaign. He won the classic so can't take nothing g away from him. But before we start talking best horse ever he's got a run more than 5 races. I mean Dr. Fager ran over 25 and only lost to Damascus twice when they sent Hedavor out to kill him then he finished 2nd and 3rd. But only Damascus ever beat him and he was a better horse they sent hedavor damascus's stable mate out to beat him both times. When no hedavor Dr Fager beat Damascus twice when they didn't cheat. Truth Dr fager was horse of the year sprinter of the year older horse of the year and turf horse of the the year. All in the same year. Try that on for size.

He don’t run more often because is a Horse that had a surgery at 2yrd old no point of running him more often and risk him to get hurt

Just a couple of times we've all seen this scenario..big brown in the belmont.he couldn't possibly lose he had proven he was just simply head and shoulders above his competition.. arrogate.in california.cant recall if big cap or pacific classic.he couldn't get beat ......both horses were about twenty cents on the dollar.. that's only two there's many more.just saying......

You must not follow racing lol he is most certainly one of the best horses of all time racing history if he wins this Saturday. I can’t h think of another horse that dominated his competition with breath taking ease like flightline has to this point.

Great analysis! The best horse in the group was a mile and an eighth horse not a mile and a quarter horse. He won but not that impressively. They have only had the 1 1/4 races at Keeneland since 2014 and his time was the same as AP's. Ghostzapper ran the race over a second faster at Lone Star Park. Because of his very limited competition, he's going to have to be sent abroad, such as to Dubai if they want to prove he's an all time great.

MJ is the greatest basketball player big red is the greatest horse and joe montanta is the greatest QB. Time has changed you have to understand the standard of greatness changes with the sport changing horses don't run 20+ times anymore defense and physicality got better in the NBA Defensive ends run 4.5 40's at 300 pounds in the NFL. What else does this horse have to prove he goes in the gate destroys the field than you all make excuses he can go destroy 10 more fields and you yall will still have something to say he can only beat who goes in the gate with him and he does that every time. He beat 8 G1 winners yesterday with ease they went 45.2 sprinters pace for 10F and still won by nearly 10. If you dont think he is at least the second greatest race horse of all time too big red you dont appreciate greatness or horse racing and that is very very sad.

He won by a big margin but the opposition did not impress therefore he has a long way to go to rank up there with horses which have run two or three times as often. To his opponents' credit they have been out there competing and not being coddled.

I was sure Flightline would crush the field in the Breeders Cup and he did, it's not about how many times he has run or who he beat it's about how easy he does it, the jockey just has to hold on, I don't think he has ever felt the whip.

@@jeffb5785 It's like I said, it's a small sample size but he DOES look quite impressive. It's a shame he kept getting hurt... if he had maybe 12 or 15 races we could talk about putting him in elite company. As it is, he's good, VERY good, but not yet great. Hopefully they'll run him as a five-year-old so we can really see what he can do.

He hasn't even ran a full year of races. Not sold yet if he has a good 5 year old champaign. You can start talking best ever 5 races no way

Clint Westwood Dirt and turf, two totally different surfaces. Winx would have buried Frankel, and I say that as someone who loved Frankel.

Melbourne cup. Aussie racing needs a big name horse next years cup lineup will be up there with the best if we can land a few good overseas horses. Incentivise, devuille legend, flight line, gold trip, lunar flare, soulcombe, life is good, white marlin, el bodegon, Persan. That would be my ideal field if we could lure a few of the internationals over.

Add in Loft, vow and declare hopefully and that’s a very strong cup field and would be a great race for a horse like flightline. On turf not dirt and will be up against very good jockeys on much more even tracks would love to see it race in the cup next year

@@stephanierarick2358 Agreed. At the moment being so happy to witness Flightline race, I did exaggerated a little bit by saying he is better than Secretariat. Secretariat is an inspiration to me since I know him from videos. He is always the best. On the other hand, I watch races daily. I have never seen a horse like Flightline make winning, running or passing other horses so easily. Life is good is also a very good horse, yet Flightline passed by him at the stretch like he is not existed. That can be done only by a very special horse…
