World of Warcraft's Lost Armor

Hi !
In World of Warcraft's almost 19 years of being live, there has been a lot of items and content in general that was made unobtainable - luckily, Classic WoW currently gives players a chance to experience the game as it was, and acquire the items that are no longer available in the retail version of the game.
In this video we will look at armor items that were removed prior to the Vanilla WoWs final patch, and therefore cannot be found within Classic. This video is a followup to the video: World of Warcraft's Forgotten Weapons, which can be found on my channel :)
As not all items are of the weapon or armor type, there are more items, which might make for a third and final video in this little "series" - stay tuned!

A short shout-out to the Defias Armor Set. While it wasn`t completely removed in Cata, some pieces weren`t on the loot table anymore, making the set incompletable. I know it looked pretty basic all things considered, but that is why i liked it so much for my rogues.

The fun thing about the Blackened Defias / Defias Leather set is that they re-added the appearances only in Legion through a rogue exclusive quest, though some of the items are still unobtainable, arguably making it more of a status symbol to actually have the items un-equipped than the actual set

It wasn't until WoD or Legion we got a moggable red leather bandana again too. Back before grey items were moggable the only red leather bandana with stats was in old ZG, removed two patches before transmog was implemented. Not to mention the pieces to replicate Edwin's armor set. You can get some of the Stormshroud pieces still but the boots are still missing (lost with old Naxx) and I believe the belt is still missing. A lot of the armor is from leatherworking recipes no longer available.

The pieces themselves are no longer available, but the appearances are. Rogues have access to an ensemble that gives you the full set.

Hey! Very interesting video... Again! For me, the history of World of Warcraft is incredibly intriguing, especially in terms of all those mysteries that will never be experienced by new players. This game truly has its own history, and I'm not just talking about the lore. Small suggestion for you - when you're recording your voice, before you put it into the video, I would run it through Adobe Podcast. It will definitely clean up the audio, and you won't have that reverb. Thanks for the video!

I did the helmet quest on my shaman back in vanilla, I remember getting the helm and the follow up quest for the epic one. I’m 33 now but I believe I was about 16 then.

The speed googles are available as transmog again as per 10.1.7 btw - they were the only google in the game that was square

They have a different name now, the "Square Holders" but they do have the identical appearance to the old Speedy Racer Goggles. Now in Zul'Farrak there's a rare chance for Gahz'rilla to drop the recipe, usable by jewelcrafters with 300 classic jewelcrafting skill (the recipe is bind on use, and can drop for anyone, not just jewelcrafters. It is often available on the Auction House, but usually quite expensive due to its rarity). The result of crafting the recipe is a cosmetic item, meaning anyone of any class can wear them, and tmog any head item to them, regardless of armor type. As with the original item, they don't require engineering to use.

I remember seeing T1 Hunters with some T2 but the models looked lame.. Blue with feathers .. then when the updated finally dropped the dragon stalker set looked amazing..

Thank you :) I have tried a couple, and currently use a Røde NT Usb, which im told is fine for recording - but im looking to buy a new laptop that is more silent for recording, and then look for options in recording software. I can hear there is still some noise on the recordings, which hopefully ill find a way to get rid of completely

Rag's ring is still obtainable on V+ Some other interesting items you might want to know about; Darkspear // Bleakwood Hew // Alchemist's Stone. Look any of these up on ClassicDB - I've heard they were originally in the alpha, but never got re-introduced. Alchemist's Stone kinda did, but not like it was originally implemented.

Kind of feel this is so well known it's not worth talking about lol, but I'd put it in a different category than this anyway. Items mentioned in this video theoretically could have been obtained by anybody at some point, even if few did before the items or way for acquiring them was removed. But the fluorescent green mechanostrider was never intended to be available to players in the first place; it was accidentally given to a player by a GM in an item restore, but the player was allowed to keep it for as long as they kept playing. (Unconfirmed rumor is that eventually the player in question got permanently banned for attempting to sell their account.)

Would love if someone did a video on the evolution of Orgrimmar and Stormwind; both have changed quite a bit over the years (Orgrimmar a lot more than Stormwind).

I remember i had couple T2 pieces then it was removed from the game. Everybody was like WHAAT?! I mean yes you kept em just no longer dropped. And could go on gathering em in BWL way later. Strange times. Also when i tell people i had some T2 back in the days and everybody nah man that's BS it's BWL loot. And always have to explain yes in later patch. Originally it dropped in MC with lower drop rate than T1.
