Yeah, try to rush someone in an IJN CA, then having to give broadside to get the torps away... I sometimes put them in reverse, drop torps into someone's path, and then see that I get out of there :)

@@FunandGameswithTerry ijn cruisers have really narrow firing arcs. You have to give broadside to your target to use them. In certain situations you can dominate. Usually it's a distracted BB that gets the surprise. I always try to fire one side usually at mid range then leave myself room to turn and fire the other side. If BB still is tunnel visioned I'll get close and start peppering with HE or AP depending on the ship.

You can even rush cruisers this way, just keep the time in mind - activate when you're about to drive-by, drop torps, and turn away. You have 10 seconds.

I quite like the Kamikaze as well. Steering mod was something I sincerely considered, since most of the time, you can't one-shot ships with 6 torps, but decided to got for acceleration instead, since I often rush light cruisers that also have torps, so I need to brake them out.

Rushing depends on your damage output. If you're in a cruiser, and you have torps, it can be viable to rush a BB (you're still going to lose health). It would be suicide to rush something in e.g. a USN CL. BB AP will shred cruisers. In a DD, it's a different story, especially if the target is unsupported. Getting in close will greatly improve your chances of landing torps, especially again against unsupported targets. But you need an exit strategy. When rushing a BB in a DD, are you going for the kill? Otherwise, what will you do after you've dropped torps? A viable strategy is to outrun their turret traverse, or just ignore them if they fire AP (BB AP will, in most cases, just overpenetrate a DD, especially at close range). A rush is a very aggressive strategy, banking often on the "shock & awe" effect, getting the target to panic. But if they don't, and are prepared, it'll as often end up in a sunk DD, and a BB driver cursing their cruisers for, as usual, not supporting them :) I feel like I need to do a video on that.

I have actually taken my British Cruisers and Rush battleships when they were trying to focus fire my teammate. That's making them shift their target and then I get to smoke up launch some torps and run away

yeah, the 5inch / 38s. Different mounts, though, which probably accounts for the reload.

It can be a very dangerous opponent. One time I was in Shen yang It was very annoying to have to face it.

I'd probably run in that situation - unless they're not using their guns.

According to WG, it was a concept for a destroyer leader just after WW1. I don't think that thing ever existed, but maybe they took the name from the existing one, given that there's no place in the game for DEs.
