@@montro2220 Yes. While he was very lucky to not take a single damaging hit from the Salem during the last minutes the incompetence of the enemy team was much bigger factor there. :)

Even playing like that the Yoshino was instrumental for the victory in the end. 1. by stopping the thunderer charge with his torps and forcing him to giving broadside 2. by occupying the cruiser for a brief moment

Many thanks for featuring this Video Jingles. Like i wrote i just recently switched from an static crosshair to an dynamic and missed therefore many shots. But i was Streaming this to a few guys in Discord and I screamed so loud after winning this because i couldn´t believe that I really survive and win that battle

6:05 when Jingles says: "ballpark", than it hit me. :) I have a Yoshino and I consider it falling into the "not great, not terrible" category. But somehow, whenever I see a Yoshino on the enemy side I have this "oooh, that's going to be a potato" tingle. Of course, this is not always true, but more often than not you get to witness: sailing in full broadside, occupying map ends, no shell dodging and that lovely, lovely full broadside turn just to get those sweet torpedoes launched, all while being spotted. This level of potatoeness beats the cake, however.

When played correctly, the Yoshino can actually be a major pain in the ass. It's really, really long range, hard hitting and very accurate HE can burn down anyone, and those 20km noob tube torps are preferably because they can be used to deny area's to enemies. (I've sunk a Gearing in one once, though I admit that was just lucky) What it is NOT is a long range torpedo spammer with guns as an after-thought, like how this guy plays on.

9:31 I think the 0 stands for either the number of ships sunk or the number of times Umba is sent to spot using a giant battleship with low concealment. It’s either one of these guesses or might be something else entirely. Edit: I was completely off! I should have thought about the unobvious because the game tracks the amount of times you get ships destroyed, but the the last guess was rather the most unobvious I had guessed.

I wish there were icons that showed how many of the enemy shells you just got hit with pen'd, shattered, bounced, etc. That way you could tell when you had a good angle. I realize with multiple ships hitting you it could get confusing, but I really think it would help. I suck at angling. That's why I play dd's, if you're getting hit, you're already screwed 😅🤣😂 Love your videos jingles, you really saved my life getting me involved in WOW. From 1 submariner across the pond to a skimmer, thank you, thank you thank you!! 4 years sober and not another 22 statistic, you're amazing!!!

You say "he wasn't the weakest link" but he really only got 2 more points than someone who at least was contributing and that is only because he survived nearly to the end and THAT is only because he wasn't fucking doing anything. When you have the nerve to ask a Yamato to spot for you you not so you can cause a crossfire but so you can launch torpedoes from entirely too far away to be effective you are most certainly the weakest link.

10:22 - That is a definite shot from the Yoshino attempting (and missing) a kill steal on the Stalingrad. That is at least one more that the tally is missing. Never change, Jingles! As for the Yoshino, War Gaming gives you points for just surviving. I'm not sure what the time frame is to get a survival point is, but the longer you survive, the more pity points you get. Given that the Yoshino was only third from bottom due to pity points, it is fair to say his was the most pitiful play on the team. 😁

I think figured it out at 6:05 that it represented the amount of torpedoes the Yoshino lands… Damn I was wrong. Fair play This battle perfectly summarized WoWs. You can witness what you think is the dumbest gameplay possible, yet when you get to the post battle result screen, multiple ships did even worse than that.

This reminds me of the mission in the old LucasArts _TIE Fighter_ game where they gave you Darth Vader as a wingman. Part of the mission briefing was the explicit instruction, "DO NOT give wingman commands to the Dark Lord." I was a little disappointed that nothing happened if you forgot and hit one of the wingman order hotkeys out of habit. I mean, Vader ignored you, but there were no repercussions after the battle. :)

You think this is bad? I was playing ranked in Småland. I get into cap. There's A Kleber in it at 7 km, full health. ohshit.jpg. I start shooting. He does not. I keep shooting and kill him, he does not fire once. Couple of seconds later his torpedos miss me. Best gunboat in the game, and he uses torps exclusively.

I can almost see "area denial" as an excuse for the Yoshino's torp strategy, but even then you'd expect him to plink at targets of opportunity that the Yama is spotting for him.

The reason the Yoshino only used his guns twice is because he bound his torpedoes to (1) and his main gun ammo selection to (2) and (3). I can only imagine his confusion on a 2-minute gun reload and the worst muzzle velocity ever.

There seems to be a reason for this madness and of course a reason why the Yoshino player does not sit on a Zao or even a Shimakaze... He has only ONE tier 10 ship - sadly it's the Yoshino he bought... Despite having 3 battles played in supership Hannover, the next highest ship in his port is the tier 8 Bismarck. Although he played more than 250 games with Yoshino, he has to be trolling in this one!!

Mine was around the 6 min mark. I suspect I've watched to much Jingles but when Paul started banging on about the torps, using the Yamo for spotting (lol) and talking about seeing the torps from the moon; it was easy from that point. And yeah, it's really frustrating seeing Yoshino's in ranked as they all play exactly (perhaps better) than this player. Edit: full disclosure, I was wrong lol

Yoshino does quite a decent job of burning things down - bigger guns mean more pen, plus the torps huge range give you some area denial ability.

Something I hope wargaming add is when someone fires in smoke you see the gun flashes from the guns and for a split second it illuminates the person.

I thought you would count the torpedo hits, but at the end there was not much of a difference to the gun shots anyway. What a random tactic by that Yoshino captain. And that he got away with it probably motivates him to do continue playing like that. The Salem captain on the enemy team deserves a praise as well for giving our protagonist a win here. He could have chosen HE and make the battle 2 minutes shorter and therefore rob us of this video.

Jingles is so hyperfocused on the Yoshino's build he didn't noticed the Yamato made a major screw-up when hit the island while the Salem was shooting at him. He could have gotten of firing range if he just turned a bit.

I would've argued Yoshino player forgot to reload their ammo, but it's auto-reloaded for you by the game, so it's literally impossible to leave the port w/o full compliment of shells for your main caliber guns. And yet this person somehow managed to do it.

I initially thought that the Yoshino guy was actually playing his ship as he should: initially stay behind the BBs and pester the enemy with HE coming from your ludicrously accurate rail guns, while flooding the water with noob torps. Yoshino’s AP is also pretty damn good, but you need to get closer to the enemy for it to be really effective, so it’s a thing you’d do further in the battle. Then I realised that moron wasn’t shooting at all… It’s a shame, Yoshino has been my first T10, and I still love her, she’s just a great support ship. There definitely is a correct way of using her, what we’ve seen in this video definitely isn’t that way.

I assume the Yoshino got such a high score was because 1. He lived until the end. 2. He probably had a bunch of spotting and potential damage from when it was just him and the Yammato.

All the Salem had to do to win... was RUN and not fire his guns. But he instead chose to sail broadside to the Yammy at 11km and fire his guns. I am not sure what went through his brain there. But the Yoshino is just... oi. I have no words.

A lot of DD driver who run torp boats tend to lean to the Yoshino. And just like torp boat drivers tend to forget to use their guns.
