Күн бұрынThe World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. It was started in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who served as CEO of WPT Enterprises (WPTE), the firm that controlled the World Poker Tour up to November 2009. In 2008, the WPT started offering bracelets to its event champions. Players who won a title prior to the release of the WPT Bracelet, were given one retroactively.

Thank you. I was the Dealer and I needed to put the right cards up to keep the show exciting.This is the reason WPT hired me several times to deal the final table.

Phil Laak has improved so much since his first WPT final table.

this video clearly shows the evolution of poker. This was before balancing range was a thing; other players were amazed when Laak turned over 2 5o. 4 and 5 bets were extremely scarce. Terms like 'blockers to the nut flush' was not a part of poker even considered then.. I don't think the commentators used the word blocker one time (which is kind of a relief given how much Feldman and other people do now lol. Everyone but Laak played ABC poker. Was this before or after Durrrrrrrr and other LAG superstars? Edit: The lack of stealing on the button, as well as obsessive UTG shoves were just insane.

Lol the poker quiz's, the terrible ridiculous icm suicides for 15-20+bb the terrible pfr size, some of the worst shoves I've seen at any final table, 2009 was interesting. It's funny because any final table you go to at any wpt event is going to have a way stronger field than the "pros" from 2009 like their 3xing pre and shoving 20bbs 4 handed with small pocket pairs 😂

It's tough to watch these WPT final tables for very long. Sexton and his cohort are all about fabricated hype and general nonsense. I recommend just muting it if you want to watch the action. Nevermind the stupid comment at 1:19:10 33 vs. Q7 board is 4TJT. Only a Q or 7 wins? Or a 4. Or a Jack.

Yeah I agree. I stopped watching WPT when they changed the format 2-3 years back. The production values have gone downhill. It doesn't seem that way but I think so. Royal Flush girls were a nice touch and easy on the eyes. Don't care for Tony Dunst much or the lady they have now doing the commentating.

I was the Dealer on the show. The TV show is about getting ratings. Phil made it very exciting. When I put that Ace out that saved, him, did you see the audience go crazy? They loved it. Thats what makes good TV.
