World reacts to ICC prosecutor seeking Israel, Hamas arrest warrants

15 күн бұрынThe chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has applied for arrest warrants against top Israeli and Hamas leaders for alleged war crimes. ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan said on Monday that his office had applied for arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders for alleged crimes committed during the Hamas-led October 7 attack on southern Israel and Israel’s subsequent war on Gaza. Khan announced that his office had "reasonable grounds" to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant bear "criminal responsibility" for "war crimes and crimes against humanity." Khan also applied for arrest warrants for three Hamas leaders - Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al-Masri (also known as Deif) - for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

He definitely should be, but from the legal perspective, the reason he (and Smotrich) are not, is because they aren't part of the War Cabinet. That would make getting a warrant for them more much more difficult than it already was. There is still a possibility of adding them to a case later, but it would be easier to get over the firs/easier warrant hurdle first.

ICC favours the West. Let's hope the ICC is not just playing on the minds of the world to save face for a biased approach regarding international law. The question is will ICC really do the job of delivering justice to the victims, the Palestine people or it's just for TV shows and wound licking strategy? ICC had no other choices but to issue arrest warrants... The alleged war crimes activities of Netanyahu , defense Minister and the Israel IDF are too obvious with evidence on every Media platform and even homes. Let's hope justice will be done ...the world awaits for justice to prevail though the heavens may fall, let justice prevail.. International justice should be totally impartial. It should not depend on what your GDP is or the size of your military. Netanyahu have been rogue for decades. I agree the the court should go after the military officers that have ordered the atrocities and people who supplied Israel with weapons. The warrants shouldn’t stop at Netanyahoo & Gallant. The ICC must step up & deliver justice. Whatever legal remedies there are to address threats from Republicans in the US should be used. The US has been obstructing justice and should have its membership revoked and also be held legally accountable. I say this as a US citizen.
