Charles does his pushups in sets of 50. Each set is completed in 25 seconds with a 35-second break between each set. Each pushup complies with the Guinness Book required form; that is, full arm extension pushups with a straight back, reaching at least a 90 angle in the down position. During his last attempt, Charles completed 30,000 pushups during the first 10 hours, providing him with a comfort zone for the remaining 16,001 pushups.

My friend Jarrad Young has the current world record for the most push ups in 1 hour (3054), competed in June 2021 at my gym (Matrix Boxing Gym - Gold Coast)… I’m seriously amazed at his effort, but believe his record will be broken one day, if not by himself again. However, 46,001 in 24hours is truly beyond comprehension and I don’t know if anyone will beat this record for many years to come. Incredible 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This is 8 years later, and as such I'd be surprised if you even used the same account... A lot can happen in that time. So, did you make the 200 in one sitting? I'm aiming for something similar myself by the end of this year (2020)

@@tylersmith1220 How's that going for you?
@tylersmith12203 жыл бұрын
@@crow9836 I actually stopped pursuing it. I might go for it again but ultimately I wondered what I was doing it for. Push ups are a pretty easy thing to move up in difficulty with various positions, but what was the point in being able to do hundreds. I just lost focus on what the purpose was, I suppose. Maybe boredom or maybe demotivated by slower gains than I expected. Maybe both!
@tylersmith12203 жыл бұрын
@@crow9836 In retrospect that might be a bit of a telling story about me. I have stopped and started more than a few things in life, but decided I needed to resolve that somehow... so decided to make some YT videos tackling that kind of sentiment. @demongod149 I admire your sipirt, a few years of training, I don't know - it took Charles 27 years of training to pull it off, and it wasn't that he couldn't do more when he reached 46,001 in 21 hours 6 minutes - it was that the bliters on his hands became too painfull to handle for him to continue. But if you do break it one day - do it for a good cause like cancer awareness or something (I know Charles will love you for that :) vs just doing it to break a record.

@magicmike112210 жыл бұрын
You guys saying that it's one push up every ~1 sec. You're wrong. You can't just take the amount of push ups, and the time, and divide. It will give you the average. It's just like if you travel 60 miles in 1 hour. How fast did you go? You can't answer that question. Same thing for this.
@Sentiray9 жыл бұрын
Actually you can answer that question by using different formulas. The velocity formula being one of them
@markokecman11779 жыл бұрын
Yeah but if 1.7 sec for a push up is the average that means that at some time he did push ups even faster...
@Sentiray9 жыл бұрын
True, just pointing it out :))
@inconspicuousname99359 жыл бұрын
Sentiray uh, no. I have been sitting at my computer for 2 hours. I get up to get a glass of water, 20 feet away. Average velocity over this interval is 10ft/hr - really slow. My actual speed, however, was more like 5ft/sec - significantly faster. Not to mention, I could do a big circle at 200mph, and my average velocity would be 0. Speed is a magnitude, velocity is a vector pertaining to displacement. Kind of getting off track, but if you went 60 miles in 1 hr, you DO NOT know the speed- you could have waited 30 min and then gone 120mi/hr for the last 30 min, or you could go 60 over the entire interval.

this and other push up records like this are my goal in life. I only wish they kept the record for most non-stop. I am about at 1500( I know I still have along way to go) and I was at 200 a month and a half ago. I've been improving by more that 100 every week. I hope to get here some day. and...I think I may try out those Tensor bandage things you were talking about.

Actually no, your pectorals only naturally go to 90degrees the only reason it goes lower is due to weight and resistance so its perfectly fine to do it this way as long as you go to 90degrees or lower.

@massibest83 I saw your fingered push-ups - your form was excellent which is so awesome to see in liue of too many hopefull record breakers trying to sloppily wiggle their name into the books. I've always considered the video of Paul Lynch's 124 one-finger to be sort of the holy grail of push-ups. The closest I have been to achieving this goal is reaching Terry Cole by phone (who knows Paul Lynch). However, I will try though the UK media papers.
