Metroid Dread - Any% Unrestricted Single File - Early Morph EMMI Warp Route
[Current Patch - Rookie Mode - No Turbo - Single File - World Record]
Like and susbcribe!
This was the first sub-40 Any% Unrestricted Single File run!
With the addition of the EMMI warp, we're now able to acquire Morph Ball before Wide Beam and streamline the early game a bit more.
Decent early game, good end game. Bad Kraidge :(
Very happy to get a sub 40 in this disgusting route! :)

RBX finally got my bribe money :) Very thrilled to see sub 40 after so much hard work, very well done Ark! Excited to see what's next 😌 oh btw I'm curious about the almost-crash that happened right before RBX. Does killing the Yamper, while a PB is exploding, cause a crash sometimes? 🤔

Lol, thanks for the assist Torvus! As for the crash, using screw attack on that enemy while the PB is going off usually crashes the game yeah. I guess I must've touched it a bit later than before when I got a crash, so either I got lucky or it was a close call..

I love how you can skip important parts of the game like unleashing the X parasite yet it still just assumes you do once you get to the power bomb 😂😂

The cutscenes do but it looks like the gameplay doesn’t, none of the enemies during escape were X lol

Dude, I don't know a whole lot about speedrunning this game, but even as a casual player I thought that 2nd phase Kraid RNG was BS.

What does single file mean here? I can't find that term being used anywhere related to speedrunning and if it is just that you are performing the full run on the same save then I wouldn't know why it's mentioned at all.

This is used in Dread specifically due to the "Bomuhey Skew" glitch. Normally you can only setup this glitch once you have Flash Shift and Speedbooster. But doesn't go away if you switch files, so you can carry it over into another file (ie. into a fresh file and run with the glitch activated from the start). That would be the Unrestricted Multi File category. So, in short, in Single File we're not allowed to start with this glitch already set so we're only able to use it later once we have the required major upgrades.

Its called seam pseudo. Its a recent trick and I havent made a tutorial on it yet, but theres information in the dread speedrun discord if you really want to learn about it soon.

That would be the Seam Pseudo. It's recently found tech that I'm not sure anyone's made a tutorial about. It was initially found by myself but others in the community contributed a good deal to figure out how we could use it to break that blob. The Metroid Dread speedrun discord is probably the only place to find information on this rn.
