@@iamasmurf1122 In a transatlantic crossing you're still gonna be using well over 10x the amount of gas an average american uses in an entire year. Economical for a superyacht, absolutely not eco-friendly.

Feadship happen to belong to the LVMH group. Also, I belive it's a company boat on paper, LVMH pays for all the expenses as any other business tool you'd need when your group owns over 70+ companies...

I agree, a 100 footer would be ideal for me. At 100 feet you can get into just about every port out there. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of these giant yachts, but to each his own! Cheers!

One thing that makes me think these yachts are realistically not viable is the cost of running them. You mentioned that this yacht had 250,0000 litre fuel tanks and it would take over half the fuel to get from Gibralta to the Bahamas. So just being general it would cost close to $200,000 just in fuel to go to the Bahamas ? Could you do a more accurate costing of what it would cost to sail to the Bahamas , including fuel and crew and any other running costs you can think of, maybe including mooring fees.

Following you on here for so long and just realized never followed you on instagram. Well that has been fixed now.. Love these Feadships. This one is owned by Bernard Arnault who is Chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton so he knows luxury. He is in like top 10 of the richest person in the world list.

I have many years in the military/commercial marine environment. In general when a yacht is in port w/o the owner, do they have a duty section/person during after hours & night time periods? If so do they have a live watch or does the crew rely on alarm systems? What about DP systems? Thanks

Bernard Arnauld of LVMH fame owns Symphony. Top 5 on the list of wealthiest people on earth with a net worth just over 100 Billion. LVMH if you're not familiar is Louis Vuitton, Moet and Chandon, and Hermes. There are some other brands involved as well. Wealthiest man in France by far

Is it the same general layout on giant cruise ships with crew around the water line? When a friend worked on a passenger ferry the crew quarters were on the top floor and the passenger cabins very low in the ship.

Crew quarters down low, but I'm assuming the captain has a private cabin right behind or near the bridge? And given Symphony's size, maybe the chief engineer also has a private cabin on the bridge deck?
