@Predator Shelby If you go to PBD videos from 2 years back they have a gt500's with bolt ons and pump 93 making 860 wheel and 900+ on pump E85. Not hating on the new Zo6 it's a bad azz NA car.

Turbo s will win. The Z06 is the pinnacle of Naturally aspirate Rwd, the 911 is aimed at being as efficient as possible with its AWD. Its not a fair matchup on paper, yet the Z06 is still brilliant enough to keep up. It hardly loses

The C8 Z06 is just a flat out better sportscar and is the first corvette to make a solid case for being an actual supercar.

You know this car is set up in track alignment right? It's built to turn not just run in straight lines. GM hit a home run building a car that can run 10.5 1/4 and beat the GT3 by seconds on the track.

You have to remember that it is a N/A car. A lot of these other cars are not .

You couldn't be anymore wrong. Its an excellent no compromise street car with all the luxury and space you need. It does 10s on the quarter mile and destroys race tracks and cars costing double.

A car with 180hp can add another 100 easy with internal and external mods like cams, intake, exhaust, etc. The Shelby has 760. The engine can take much more in stock form. I’m talking rwhp. No internal mods at all. Increase the boost with a pulley, fuel mods, tune for much less than $4K depending on the shop. But it’s good to assume a higher number as a few more mods and get closer to 900rwhp. Depends on a lot of factors. Follow the tuners and builders. It’s all out there as proof. Boils down to how a car makes you feel.

The big thing everyday commenting seem to ignore is the immense weight difference between the GT500 and the C8 an C8 Z06. 500 lbs is huge, it will take quite a bit more horsepower to move the GT500 than it will the Z06. So in that respect the Z06 has an big advantage and being mid engine gives it another big advantage when it comes to hooking up the power to the pavement. So a stock GT500 if it runs neck and neck with the Z06, that is pretty strong. Again the Stang has 150 more hp, but it is also packing an extra 500 lbs., in the racing world that weight difference is staggering

There are videos of the base C8 beating a GT500 in the 1/4. On that note - I know not everyone races and doesn't have much experience with it - but if you look at the other numbers run during this cold track day - like a Redeye Jailbreak that ran 152 MPH in the 1/2 that same day...versus looking on the internet for a best conditions run with the FI GT500 - it is helpful to consider that.
