7 जनवरी को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी वेस्टर्न डेडीकेटेड फ्रेट कॉरिडोर में रेवाड़ी से मदार के बीच के रेल सेक्शन को माल गाड़ियों की आवाजाही के लिए खोलने जा रहे हैं उससे पहले इस रेल सेक्शन में Double Stack Container Long Haul Train को देश के सबसे ताकतवर इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव WAG 12 और एक और इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव से चला कर दिखा गया
इस ट्रायल को सफल बताया जा रहा है

We can boast of it. Usually, earlier any project took long time, more than the specific time frame, to finish. By this delay, the project cost becomes higher, and causes the waste of taxpayers money . Unnecessary delay deprive us the benefits of the project as well. After independence, this government is introducing the culture of finishing the project timely. This is the projection of honesty and integrity of the present custodians of the country.

Not a single kms of rail lines under the Freight Corridor project was laid until 2014, now.. 90% of the EDFC has been completed and ready to start once the electrification is over. Also, a stretch of recent 300km of New - Rewari New - Madar on the EDFC was inaugurated on 7 January by PM Modi. While the amount of money spent since 2006 to 2014 was just 4000crs, that amount is now whopping 1,45,000 Crs.

We should have dedicated freight corridors all over the country. Imagine the passenger lines it can free up and then these passenger lines can be upgraded to run at 200 km/hr . The whole nation will transform.
