Tractive + dsc suspension would an awesome and perfect upgrade for the suspension. Coilovers are full active as per oem, and the dsc is basically a standalone suspension ecu that is fully and easily tuned. Look into it, very neat piece of kit.

Love the spec of your Pista. If I had the money I would buy it from you. I am looking at F8, new 911 Turbo S, and maybe waiting for the C8 Z06. 720S is cool but no service centers within 400 miles of me so thats a pain I don't want to deal with.

Thanks alot Robert and Mischa, I learned more about tracking than ever, I'm also setting times at nurburgring on forza7 and the changes I have made to my McLaren, as in toe in, and more toe out on the rear, the car is shaving 3 seconds of my record, so brilliant thank you

Around 17:00, I kind of appreciate Robert's stance for this reasoning: I imagine a lot of people who come to APEX for a taxi want a certain experience. If they get a ride in the GT2 RS MR, they get to know what the car that set the Ring record is like. Lots of people watched that lap record and thought to themselves "Wow, what would it be like to do that?" However, I'm not sure a significantly modified Pista holds the same sort of appeal. That's not because the car is less capable/desirable as an object to drive, but it ends up being Robert's idea of what he would like a Pista to be. Fulfilling that vision is great for a personal car, but not necessarily that appealing to a mass audience. Keeping it reasonably stock lets your passengers tell their friends that they had a ride in basically the same car that they watched Chris Harris or someone drive on video.

As Pista owner and hard-core trackday aficionado (at the Ring, Spa & co.), I look forward to the video with the info how the Pista handles on track now (I haven't tracked yet my Pista, took delivery of it just before the coronavirus issue)

Love the 488 Pista, you have a point though, if they know most of their customers are only using it for town driving in London and Monaco etc they probably set it to be softened off abit.

Thanks, Robert! Your inputs are very interesting indeed. I’m taking delivery of my Pista in a few days. I will certainly follow your Pista insights. Please keep it coming and please don’t sell your Pista. I have two Speciales and digging into them slowly but still only from a road perspective. I’m also slowly sorting my rally specced 308 with Öhlins shocks. I will definitely stay tuned to your tubing.

Pizza Pista lap? Sportauto's uit de fabriek zijn meer afgesteld voor de weg dan een circuit zoals Robert al opmerkte, dus dan kun je als eigenaar aan de gang om de "sport auto" aan te passen waarvoor de fabrikant zegt dat de auto bedoeld is. Nu wachten tot de Ring weer open is en Robert de verbeteringen kan uitproberen.

While on a straight line I guess we can agree that it doesn't make a difference if you have negative or positive toe, yet from my understanding negative toe would encourage understeer since the outside wheel is pointing out a little and also the weight transfers to the outside wheel, giving it more traction. So actually positive toe should help you in corners, but make the car a little more oversteer prone.

5:26 you had my car, blue Cayman GT4MR (not the BB number plate development car). A week ago, it was a GT4, got transformed to MR and I am going to pick it up tomorrow. Normal times, I would swing by 🤗

I‘d rather offer it to a proper content creator (calling Misha, but seriously, already offer out to somebody, let’s see whether we can work that out). Got the full package, some parts I already had (brake pads, wishbones), now I got the rest (KW suspension, steel braided brake hoses, wing, BBS rims). Hope for tracks to be opening soon, I am sure we can do this in a responsible way soon after Easter.

Trackdays Would love to see it. I have the MR trackday kit (lower arm package) I’m thinking to get the full package (KW, braided lines and pads) now once we are out of lockdown… just trying to decide if the wing is worthwhile.

Tyrone Thomas Not sure my talent is great enough to tell, but according to Manthey it helps stabilizing the car for high speed corners. Quite a few fellow track drivers run higher risers / bigger wings and are happy with it.

When you put (even minimal) toe out in the front, you need the negative camber in the front to go with it or else you will slide over your tires (unersteer) like Robert explained. Toe in overall is better for straigh lining. A little toe in front and rear is standard on most RWD cars for road use, but will work at the track with good tires and some negative camber! :D

I run my GTR with Toe out and I like it more then toe in for the track and it has still enough power to pass the 300km/h on Doettinger. I would need more downforce and gladly giving up 30km/h on top speed

The beep means it activated your parking light at the left side, as your indicator whas on the left.. This shouldn't be on if the lights are switched of tho..

What you need is more power from the engine. The Pista is 60 HP down from the 720S as someone has already found out by running both cars on the Dynojet. Reason being is McLaren sandbagged its specs massively. As it turns out, the 720S has 700 WHP to the wheels not to mention the car is lighter too. The Pista will need another 100 HP just to get on par with the 720S and we haven't even mentioned the 765 LT yet.

@@mgcharoudin I wasn't referring to the handling with the wheel alignment, toeing and so forth. I was referring back to when DragTimes came over from Florida how the 720S was able to smoke the Pista in a straight line.

I had a Ford that the rear toe was off and it super unstable where going through a corner even at say 35 mph and I was struggling keeping the car on the road. It was so bad that I stopped on a road trip at a front end shop and they did a four wheel alignment and it was like a different car.

I’m a detailer (not at Apex obv), inside of windshields and rear windows is my least favorite part of detailing. I recommend using Spray Way window cleaner and a pair of clean micro fiber towels. Do 1/2 of the windshield at the time and start from the middle of each section and work your way out. :)

strangely I've had the opposit experience and toe in and out on the front axle. toe out will increase steering input lag while having it more settle, contrary to toe in increasing responsiveness and turn in caracteristics. they did also explained that F1's runs toe out to tame down the front of the car and avoid over responsiveness.

Dx4picco Keep in mind that I’m talking about positive and negative toe going beyond zero to the other side. If youre at negative toe and go from -2 more positive to -1 it will be less responsive as you say. Go past 0 into the + and it will start to get hyper

I dont understand why anyone would set up a car with toe out, it makes the car turn in but then you need more lock because weight transfers to the outside wheel & the inside wheel scrubs. you get the inside wheel turning more with ackermann anyway.

Here in Australia it is against the Law if You leave your ignition Key in the Car Ignition and your Door unlocked and You are more than 10 Metres away from your Vehicle ! A hefty Fine You will get if caught out !

Misha! What do you guys do about the ceramic brake discs wearing? Replace with new, very expensive rotors? Send them for re-coating at ReBrake? Switch to steels? Use some after market ceramic rotors like Surface Transforms? Love your videos btw, always interesting, even with what's happening across the planet at the moment. Stay safe!

Think a lot of the understeer comes from the 245 front. Far to skinny, but I guess that's the compromise Ferrari make to make it more accessible to most drivers.

Not at all. Even with 275's in stock form, it understeers. The chassis has the ability to dial in a ton of oversteer so the bias is not far off. The main benefit from 265 or 275 is heat management. I have been on tracks with the Pista on a day with 20c temps where the fronts gets to 85-90c.

btw the f1 things of steering is based on the akker man principle that 1 wheel kan have more steering angle etc then the other .... nice vid ;) some nice kw with that helpers srping coud do the trick for that car ?

That specific tyre is pretty good - but the best thing is that they are cheap. A Trofeo R is a bit more expensive but better, and an MPSC2R is a bit better yet, bit ridiculously priced.

what you guys are trying to do is exactly opposite to what Ferrari as a brand has become of late. you want to drive it, they want you to put it in a garage, not race it against other cars such as Porsche and McLaren and boost about how low mileage your Ferrari is. 😊

Everything you say is dead wrong. If what you said was true, please explain why mst Porsche RSR, Ferrari GT3 and Radical Cup cars are set up with toe out? Trust me, toe in is not the norm. The biggest issue here is the lack of camber, not the toe out. It is aggressive, but if you go to a track with fast tight turns unlike the Ring which is mostly sweepers, the speed of the Pista steering is not bad. A car with a Ring setup is a bit slow in its reactions - that's just the nature of that track.

Misha Charoudin From the Video i understood that GT2RS from the factory came with a setup that was ok, but it improved alot after you guys dialed it in. Im curious as I experienced the same with my GT2RS after it was setup properly. The car was completely different.
