Jack Effel is the worst TO and is horrible for Poker. Doesn’t even know the rules of the tournament, just steps in to either be the white knight, or to appease the majority (or the more known players). Yes, Will was taking excessive amount of time. One bad thing about this situation was that it was heavily edited for time, all of the hands are. So you don’t get to see just how long Will is taking for each hand. Any Poker player who has actually played in tournaments for money knows how annoying someone who wastes time is. It’s even worse when the player who is wasting time has a ton of chips, so it’s not like they’re even tanking to ladder up. He’s literally just doing it to annoy the other players and not only that, they see far less hands. His speech play is whatever. That is annoying too but it wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it wasn’t for all the time wasting. All that said, some of the other players were out of like as well. Like Josephy. And the absolutely moronic comment of “1 player per hand” has become iconic for one of the dumbest things a tournament I guess “director” has ever said, lol. Anyway, Will was annoying and took way too long. But no one handled it well on the opposite end either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@jameskim3116 Yes. It was even impressive that he put him on a straight flush and not a better full house. But the awful fold of the flush, man. It wasn’t just a bad fold in general, but it was even worse of a fold considering how many chips he invested and what he was left with after folding. Having 4.5 mil left is basically like having 500k left at that point in the tournament, so why not just call? Like why were you even in that hand if you were going to fold after making your hand? Makes no sense lol

Bryan Piccoli and Antoine Saout would reach next year's FT. Piccoli I think got out on day 6 and Saout was 25th in 2016.

Wow that Obst fold was world class. Thinking about it though, he has the worst full house on the board. Ruane called his flop 3 bet, then lead the turn when the flush came in. That rules out a bigger set mostly. Then Ruane raises his small blocker bet all in on the river with hardly a thought. Logically a straight flush is the only hand that makes sense. Still, 99% of players are going broke there.

Eh, it's actually not hard. If he had folded like JT or JJ, then I'd be impressed. People with flushes, especially non-nut flushes, don't typically go crazy on paired boards when pots get big. He's basically only ahead of the nut flush (sometimes, it might not even play that way) or bluffs.

@@Jermo484 I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s not hard but, like I said logically it is really the only thing that makes sense. So logically speaking it isn’t that tough of a fold. But folding a full house in the main event is not easy, and these things are always much harder in real time when you don’t know the opponents hand. But yeah, he’s not leading the turn with a set or J10, and he isn’t raising all in on the river when the board pairs holding a flush. Straight flush is the only thing that makes sense.

Niwinski was by far my favorite player to watch. So well composed for being only 25, his first time at a WSOP main event, and he played extremely well. Always kept his cool, never berated anyone, and took his bad beats with grace.

Obst fold at 3:16:05 was a really terribly play. 14m chips in the pot, he only had 4m chips behind. He made a flush. Why call for 4m on the turn if he’s going to fold for 4m on the river when he made his hand? Terrible play.

I wonder what Will would have been like in the final 9?! ...I'm imagining he'd be a bit lighter/more fun, in the glow and attention of the final table... but still, he'd have to annoy some of the people some of the time!

The way to handle a player like Will Kassouf: headphones and a smart phone. His way of play is exactly to make players on tilt and it makes me laugh. I rather not listen to his BS and not care even if I am in a hand or not.
