Here are some impressions and pictures of the WSC 2022, the World Sudoku Championships in Krakow, Poland. Almost 200 participants from all over the world took part, an astonishing number considering that two years had to be cancelled due to Corona and that the planning was therefore very last-minute and uncertain. In addition, a war was raging only a few hundred kilometres to the east, the development of which could not be foreseen. Despite all this, it was a first moment after a long time for all those who could and dared to come, promising a little normality. Shortly before the end of the film, you can see a photo with the last remaining people who have always been there live at all 15 Sudoku World Championships so far: I am on the far left and then come Wei-Hwa Huang, Jaanus Laidna and Henning Kalsgaard Poulsen and the only one missing from the picture is Will Shortz, without whom there might never have been such competitions and neither would the World Puzzle Federation. Tiit Vunk from Estonia won, ahead of Tantan Dai from China and Kota Morinishi from Japan. Team World Champion was the Czech Republic.
