Yup, me as well. Made a mistake at: 17. Mixed it with Allied invasion of Norway. 19. I thought it was 9, I might have mixed it up with a bit higher number of death penalties for soldiers overall (still not 9, but more than 1) 20. I thought it was schnitzel, but then I realized that Americans do not use that word XD 22. I thought Japan and Montenegro... which was the case up until recently but for the wrong war, it was the case for the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905. Stupid mistake. 27. I was SURE the largest standing army was USSR... and I am still not convinced it is France. 31. No idea, really.

If half of those divisions were alocated to Army group North,the soviets never were able to encircle them in the Courland Pocket,and so Army group North were free to defend Berlin. Question #7 is kind of a cheat. The video says “WW2 Quiz” but Japan was at war with China from the late 19th century until the late 1930s. And WW2 started in 1939 which was after the war between Japan and China ended. I know this because one of my all time favorite directors, Ishiro Honda, was involved in both wars. At first he was at war with China from 1935 until about 1938 or around there. And then he got another draft letter and was sent into WW2 for the entire war from 1939 to 1945. My point is that the war between Japan and China was not part of WW2. It was a completely different war and it ended before WW2 even started.

Was it not Russia that expressed their concerns about these killings only to have them fall on deaf ears? Was it not Putin in 2016 who tried to resolve the issue peacefully, with the drawing up of the Minsk Agreement? Did Ukraine not accept and sign this Agreement and were France and Germany not signatories? Were there any attempts by Ukraine, Germany and France to fulfill their obligations under the agreement? Australia did not declare war on 3 sept 1939 - as such. It may be thought of as a subtle difference but Robert Menzies speech referred to the fact that as Great Britain had declared war... "as a result, Australia is also at war".

Ok so I have seriously studied WWII since I was 15 years old. I have read too many books on WWII from the tactics & planes used by all the air forces of the nations involved, to of course the tactics & equipment used on the ground as well as the various navies. I have read & reread all the books, watched & re watched THE WORLD AT WAR at least 100 times during my life. I have even met with & observed members of The DAK of German Afrika Korps during their meetings/get togethers. I have met with & talked to German soldiers who fought on the Eastern front. One story I'll never forget, I was told when I was I worked at Sears. An old man came into my department. I noticed that he was speaking with a German accent. I immediately began speaking German to him by asking him "Woher kommst du in Deutschland?" or "Where do you come from in Germany?" His eyes lit up as he looked at me & he replied, "Ich bin in Osnabruck geboren und dort in Osnabruck aufgewachsen!" or "I was born in Osnabruck & grew up in Osnabruck!" I noticed that he was old enough to have most likely been in Germany during WWII. When I asked him if he was in Germany during WWII, He immediately responded that not only was he in Germany during WWII, but that he had fought on the Eastern front at age 17. His job was to squat down in a tank ditch holding an anti tank mine. When a Russian tank drove over him, he armed the mine then attached the mine under the passing tank. The mine was magnetic & it blew up or disabled the tank shortly after. When I asked him what scared him the most about doing that, he replied that, many anti tank mine troops were seriously injured or killed when Russian tanks did not drive far enough before the mine went off. Also there were Russian infantry that sometimes were just behind those tanks that inevitably finished off the anti tank troops. Anyway, I have taken countless tests & quizzes on WWII & usually score in the high 90%. This quiz had some vary vague questions that in my opinion, were designed to throw off even the most knowledgeable historians. I scored 100% except What a Liberty steak was What modern aircraft was used during WWII What country lost 20% of its civilians The Nibu Hbakusha are people who survived what? (The dumbest question of all & the question that bored me to my limits, so I stopped watching after that) These questions in my opinion except maybe the modern aircraft & 20% of civilians lost in Poland, are not worth mentioning. . .

A lot of these questions arent really important to “knowing WW2” such as knowing names of airplanes used. Thats battle but WW2 is mostly learned for things such as “What 2 countries declared war on Germany” those were the good questions but the “How many US soilders were executed for desertion” question is more of like a fun fact question.

The leaders of Russia (Chair of the Executive Committee of the All-Russia Soviet Congress) during WW2 were, Aleksei Badayev, Ivan Vlasov and Nikolai Shvernik. If you are asking for the names of the leadership of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, then don't refer to it as "Russia."

And again! The Red Army of the USSR (not just "Russia") took part in the Battle of Berlin. But even that is not a complete answer since the First Polish Army (of the Polish People's Army) also fought at Berlin against the Nazis.
@DIREWOLFx75
@DIREWOLFx75 Жыл бұрын
The army of the USSR captured Berlin, NOT Russia! BAD FAIL! Russia does not equate USSR. Blitzkrieg is NOT a battle tactic. It wasn't even an actual doctrine. And the name was made up by a US newspaper. The common overall German doctrine was that of edges and gaps, you pinned down edges(active defenses) with the minimum possible troops needed and you advanced through gaps(undefended areas) as forcefully as you were capable of, to allow encirclement of troops and reaching enemy rear area highvalue targets on an operational level and to advance on important national locations at the strategical level. Kamikaze was not a name GIVEN, it was a name REPURPOSED. As it was the name given to the typhoons that saved Japan from the Mongol invasions in 1274 and again in 1281, the second of which is the largest invasion attempt in history aside from D-day. The fact that storms removed the same severe and imminent threat against Japan twice, it's really not strange that someone started calling it the Divine wind, or that it became reused when there was another threat from the sea. The swastika is the REVERSED ancient positive symbol.

You call this a quiz? Another person below correctly says it was the Soviet Union, not Russia, that invaded Berlin. And, although they suffered some major defeats in the first few months, the UK also fought in the Pacific theatre. There were three major nations at war there because a significant part of the British Empire was in the Pacific (eg Singapore). Some other poor benighted person below learned "alot" (sic) from this "quiz". God help us.

I scored 29, so some challenging questions in there. As stated below, Russia didn't exist in WW2, it was the USSR and this does a great disservice to Ukrainians, Moldovans, the Baltic states and all of the other peoples who fought the Nazis and won the war in Europe. There are other pictures of William Hitler rather than the one shown of him with USN written on his cap. I guess thanks for the bone.
