ASP PRESENTS:
USMC Blanket and Shelter Half
An important part of a Marines 782 gear was his blanket roll. The blanket roll consisted of 1 blanket, 1 shelter half, 1 guy line, 1 folding tent pole, and 5 tent stakes. Before World War 2, the tents were khaki colored. By 1943, reversible camouflage tents were being issued. The Marines contracted the POWERS & Co to assist in manufacturing them due to the increase of demand. All shelter halves were the same and any 2 Marines could put them together to make a tent.
