And we can't forget that you're not allowed to tell a stupid person they are stupid, but the stupid people are allowed to call intelligent people, "stupid." It is amazing how stupid people will argue about things they know nothing about, as though they are experts, never listen to the people who actually do know and refuse to learn anything! It's the Schultz syndrome; "I know nothing!"

You can't be dumb and do sheet metal. Too much accuracy and design, not to mention cutting and assembly skills. I personally think people who make articles like this do it because they don't have to have a thinking IQ, only the ability to come up with insults. When he said SC had an average IQ, I laughed. Statistically it means 50% of the country is smarter and 50% are lower. So, statistically that would put them pretty much in the middle.

Back in 2020-2021, we learned just how "essential" many of those workers are. Not that it increased their pay any. All that said, there are some very intelligent people working in what many would consider "menial" jobs and their reasons for doing so are varied

Some people do in fact enjoy working with their hands and doing manual labor. Many of those same jobs pay better than those requiring degrees. My sister was pissed to find out how much I make as an auto work compared to hers with a Masters in Psychology, especially with how much she owes to WMU. The slight here is weak at best and plain ignorant at most. The pay including benefits of union job exceed many of those in nonunion jobs sectors. I have a pension, I doubt this KZfaqr does….

@@scream2207 ...Not only is it rarely taught, critical thinking was removed from the curriculum deliberately. In the U.S. (and most countries) we have what's called a "Prussian" based education system. The Prussian based education system removes the Trivium (aka Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric). The Trivium is also known as the Liberal Arts, not because it creates left-wing liberals, but because it's considered fundamental for a person to be free. The purpose of the Prussian based education system was to condition youth to be worker-bees in the industrial revolution. It allows them to gain skills, but keeps them conditioned to be compliant to authority figures (aka bosses). The opposite way of teaching is called the Socratic method, which asks challenging questions to get a person to think critically about a topic, and dig deep into underlying truths. In comparison, the Prussian method can be considered "Giving a man a fish", where he then becomes dependent upon the fish giver, vs. the Socratic Method of "Teaching a man to fish", where he can self-sustain and be free. In my opinion, the Prussian based education system is the single greatest detriment to mankind. It is the shackles holding humanity back from greatness, peace, and global freedom. It is the system that allows "elites" control over the masses. ...and most people, including teachers, aren't even aware of it. Don't take my word for it. Research it... and then spread the word. If we can create just one generation of critical thinkers, the world will change in such wonderful and incredible ways. ☮

My emotional intelligence is extremely low, and I teach electonics and programming and building supercomputers. Not only do the poorest areas lack access to a decent education, but they also often lack access to quality nutrition, which has a measurable effect on neurological development in babies and kids. Kentucky is one of the poorest states. California is by far the wealthiest. California is number six and Kentucky isn't even on the list. Even poor people can get an education, if their state puts focus on it. Absolutely true. This is ficitional but I remember the book, "The Razor's Age," by Somerset Maugham. It was made into a movie and then re-made in the 80s with Bill Murray. It's about a guy whose life is changed by his horrific experiences in the horrific WWI as an ambulance driver going out onto the battlefield, picking up "injured" (maimed, gassed, half-dead, etc.). He was a privileged, smart guy, but afterward he rejected his normal life path toward an upper-middle or lower-upper class lifestyle, moved to Paris and took menial jobs to devote his time to investigating the meaning of life and how to live it well. He even spent time with monks in Nepal for a spell. He worked as a miner for a while, too, and met another miner who introduced him to "Upanishads." I guarantee you there are bright people working all those jobs (I've met some of them), for many different reasons. Sometimes it's lifestyle (work/life balance; being outdoors; physical exercise; being on the ocean; etc.), sometimes it's the economy (what jobs are available in the place you live, and reasons, like family, for not moving to a better job, etc.), and other things. Nuance.

Yeah many problems with the Wilson Binet. The test it’s a primitive way of grading people. Also people don’t hire you and ask for a IQ score it’s about experience, skills, tools, and Certs when you do many of these manual labour jobs but doesn’t mean they have a low IQ. It doesn’t account for language barriers, school exposure, trama both physical or mental, house hold and the income, how the person is feeling, how much sleep, what they are, how nervous they are, or the ability to learn and comprehend. It’s also based on reading math and core things like this that don’t really correlate to how smart somebody is it’s only how much they know through environment exposure. Lots of more info on why it’s bs. I met guys in the army infantry who had a high GT score classified as genius could do any job they wanted but the requirements were very low. Many guys were well above that mediocre and chose hard manual labour jobs. Some people are savings at one thing and can’t do math 🤣. Doesn’t make them stupid or be a reason to classify as a low IQ 😂. And btw I have a high IQ 🤣
@kevinc8811
@kevinc8811 2 ай бұрын
Reality is, many of the people that you’re referring to may not be disadvantaged because they aren’t fluent in English. I’d recommend comparing the average IQ score of the people from their country to the other countries of the world. Obviously people in other countries are going to take the test in their own native language, or primary (first) language. That’s a fair comparison. Unfortunately the average IQ score in the U.S. has dropped in recent years. Most sources say it’s now around 97 to 98.

People should visit states like Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, just to name a few states with high poverty areas and run down low poverty neighborhoods. But people living in these states, plus others will pretend no problems exist.

That said, I hate when the stereotypes come out about a state as large and diverse as ours. CA isn’t all beaches cities and deserts lol nor is it all liberals. My cousin also born and raised here moved to small town Montana two decades ago and it seems many up there think CA is just all bad. Would be a great state (again) if it was ran properly

Funny how California and Texas, the two states with the highest GDP made the list. I currently live in Texas, but I'm from Louisiana and I've been to all of these states except California. Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana don't surprise me. I don't know if it's coincidental or not, but all of the aforementioned states have large minority populations. Mississippi and Louisiana respectively being #1 and 2.

My IQ is 130.... and I have Autism..... and I can't get a job because people get offended because I don't Small Talk enough. Also other stuff like I'm not great at reading and spelling and so on. Fun fact because I looked it up myself and I believe this is true a IQ test more or less is a common sense test mixed with engineering. If you have a good amount of Common Sense and if you're good at engineering kind of like myself your IQ would ranked pretty high. If you're a normal person where you're going to refinance your house so you can go on a vacation or use the money for a down payment for a new car yeah your IQ would likely be kind a lot... 🤷‍♂️

This video is total B.S. First, it's impossible to know the average IQ for a given state, since the vast majority never take one. Second, IQ scores are a very poor way of measuring most kinds of intelligence. Finally, to suggest a certain IQ best fits an occupation is akin to predicting what kind of food they like, or what type of mate they prefer. It's impossible to assess preferences based on an arbitrary measurement of intelligence. 🙄

Briggs, you could have just shared the stories for fun without forcing IQ into the equation. It’s rather crude, not every person with intellectual challenges, made that choice. Some people don’t aspire to betterment and that is a choice! For the innocents, they have to live with attitudes like yours. Critical thinking is important. How many times did you question yourself on making this video? The answer will point to your own IQ.

I scored a 33 on my ACT and I do quite a bit of drywall. I also do most other aspects of full home renovation. They have preached for a generation that a college degree is the only way to be successful but now there is a shortage of people who can work with their hands and we can pretty much name our price. My friends and I who are skilled laborers and own our own businesses all clear six figures in the Huntsville, AL area, which is pretty decent money here.

Worked 28 years as a secretary in South Carolina schooks. Over and over parents moving in from other states questioned our education. They were surprised at our higher standards, long school days and free services. Our special ed students are allowed to take SAT and other exams so it lowers our scores. Also we still have a large population of older, isolated people who were not offered a quality school Despite this they have succeeded in life and are beautiful Christians.
