So far, there’s only two characters you should know from the books Vernestra and burryaga pretty much everybody else would be dead from old age. This show takes place at the very end of a high republic, where as the books take place anywhere from 400 to 100+ years before the show.

Dude props to you for explaining the whole story in one video showing without all the fancy editing. Fancy editing is great but your video feels like a conversation with a friend. Pretty authentic video in my opinion. Course, you do you man even if that means you ad edits and all. Just wanted to give you a compliment for the simplicity you’re starting out with. The fight choreography is the best thing about the show so far. Other than that these two episodes come off as really unpolished. The character's aren't well written and the editing is pretty bad. The scenes both episodes ended with feel so awkward when it just suddenly cuts to credits. They feel like scenes that belong at the start of an episode instead of at the end. The sequential order of the scenes after the jail break in episode one were pretty awkward as well. The prisoners escape, the ship crashes, we immediately cut to the prisoners already being caught by the Jedi, the Jedi say they sent a team to search the wreckage and didn't find any survivors, Jedi decide to go there themselves, then it cuts to the girl still being in the wreckage waking up even though the Jedi just said that they already sent a team to search and scan the wreckage. You could argue that the scenes are out of order timeline-wise, but this means that they should have been switched around.

I can partly agree on the dullness, but for once, the pacing felt right and there was no fat. I felt a sense of deja-vu, like I guessed a lot of the plot way to fast. It feels predictable, but still enjoyable.

Carrie Anne Moss character being killed with a ninja star when she has a sacrificed herself in a badass way, in the Matrix, to make Neo save The Matrix, its embarrassing. Disney is a acting vaccum and Carrie lost everything in those first minutes. I havent watched the rest yet but honestly, it sounds like a dread and q waste of time for real Star Wars fans.

I wouldn’t call the costumes that cheap sure the colors are bit bright in some areas but they still lean into the aesthetic pretty well.

They were literally bragging it's the gayest Star Wars yet. That is not going to make people want to watch the show.

I'm liking the show so far but not loving it even though the twin sister thing is predicable and the Sith master could mess up the timeline if any Jedi survive but we'll see where it goes. I'm loving master Sol. The other characters are fine right now but i don't love them. I don't like Yord but i like the one Jedi that is played by Dafne Keen. I think the martial arts is fine but i hope we get a good lightsaber duel. I'm calling it now though that the Sith master is the one behind her family dying in order to push one sister to the darkside and get an apprentice.

I watched these last night. It's fine. Might get better or worse as we go. But so far I've seen lots of crying from the standard rightwing incel reviewers and it's just not justified. The fight scenes are good. The murder mystery idea is intriguing. The acting isn't great (except for Master Sol). But ya, so far it's better than most of the bs Disney Star Wars projects. We'll see how it goes..

Geekdoms takes and his comment section are such a breath of fresh air when it comes to star wars nowadays I havent watched the episodes yet but I went to Star wars theory channel and this no shade on him been a fan for years but its mainly all hate but no explanation as to why. Hey geekdom go check out the books but this show takes place 100 years after the books. Only 1 character is from the books so far and they are a side character.

Andor staying the best thing in Star Wars of recent times. Sad that I already feel that about this show but that's good for Andor at least

I like the costume change is different from what we used to the show is not bad you got to give it time to grow like when you watch anime you have to give it time to grow there is so much potential here with this show I can't wait to see where it goes

I actually like these two episodes a lot. There criticisms you brought up I haven’t thought of that I can see. But the world building was great. Seeing the Jedi move much differently than they did in the Clone Wars, And how much more in tune they were to the force than those in Yoda’s era, does a lot better of a job showing the degradation of the order over the years than the prequels ever did for me. The Jedi actually do feel kind of unbeatable that you really have to think outside the box to beat a skilled master. After all Mae had to know specifically the emotional weakness of a Jedi master to beat him in episode 2 And in episode 1 Mae played on the compassion of the Jedi to win. I actually am really curious about the mystery of the Jedi and what they did to Osha and Mae which is what the series actually seems to be about and further more what exactly is the Sith masters true goals. This might be my favorite Star Wars show since Rebels so far cus I personally have not been into a lot of Disney content as of late

I never read the high Republic. And i like the episodes so far. Master Sol is a good character so far. As someone who is a fan of both legends and canon I look forward on seeing more from the show. It's the first thing outside the Skywalker saga also the Wole stuff i dont even get what that means im 27 and honestly i dont get what it means and i dont care. The woke thing is really annoying when did people even saying that is that a new term or something? Oh and the Yord guy he said he has been Knight for 2 years.

I'm really digging it. I found the first two episodes to be fantastic!

I actually really enjoyed these, I liked being free from any preconceptions about the characters. Definitely, I thought the escape was stupid because there’s no way they wouldn’t have a restraint for species like that. Other than that, I haven’t seen anything that upset me. The dialogue and costumes are awkward and corny but I find it more charming than annoying

14:41 why is this weird? They explained in the first episode Jedi don’t take out their lightsabers at this time unless they intend to kill the person they’re fighting. Which is good because it forces them (no pun intended) to rely on the force and the other aspects of being a Jedi. If anything this is the most Jedi shit in the show

Tbh I felt the same way. It was alright, another pass in editing and I feel like it could be better. I didn’t see anything woke about the first two episodes either. Regardless if this show ends up good I feel like it’s not going to do that well because of interviews and what not. it’s kind of PR hell with how they advertised this in interviews and stuff. Some people can’t let that stuff go.

I like we solved the twin mystery sooner. Because honestly, if we found out later Osha had a twin sister my reaction would’ve been:”why the fuck was this never brought up before?” Given how the mystery was set up. If they however played it up as we didn’t even see Mae’s face but there was other evidence leading to Osha I would rather they buried the lead tho. The real mystery here is what the Jedi did to Mae and Osha to make Mae so guilt ridden

Writing is shit but the show isn’t too bad. Interesting enough to keep watching as a Star Wars fan but nothing to write home about… I just don’t want this to be a disaster like Kenobi. Fuck that show.

Plus one of the actresses did say live on tv that her goal was to make white people cry, which was really stupid. However as those episides haven't aired yet, ill keep the open mind. The show was marketed as being woke. The director literally has cemented the show is woke. After what I heard about episode 3 it’s definitely woke. That wouldn’t matter if the show is good. Fallout is a great example of that. Make it good and it won’t really matter. I mean Disney and Kathleen has literally said the force is female. Star Wars has already been declared woke by the people in charge

Speculation below: Sooo.. Mae and Osha are clearly the same person right? Yord is probably the main villain, or mind wiped and given a new memory, Revan style when he was chasing her. They even brought up with the henchmen that mind wipes are possible. Probably foreshadowing.

Dude I started zoning out while you were summarizing. Heard it was boring and have no interest in watching it. It looked cheap from the trailers. That was my main issue and I don't care about the High Republic. With shows, you really only get once to win people over with the pilot. If the characters don't sound interesting, many won't come back. The Boys and House Of The Dragon are this month. Looking forward to those.

I’m actually loving this show so far. It has cool characters and is very interesting. Also only one of the characters, Master Venestra, is in the books as a padawan and knight. But also I say check out the comics at least. Those are quick and cool af.

Aside from the woke stuff, do you need to do homework for this show? I tried to watch Andor and I couldn’t follow what was going on so I stopped watching. Whereas I was able to follow Ashoka without watching the precursor series. I am just tired of having to watch a hundred things before being able to watch a show.

Bro these Disney Star Wars shows are boring. I’m watching these episodes and I’m just dozing off. Honestly Star Wars has had a streak of boring characters since the prequels. Lucas struck gold with Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Lando, C-3PO, R2-D2, Kenobi, Yoda, Vader, Fett, Jabba, and The Emperor. everything outside of them as been lame.
